I had seen this movie advertised but waited. Tonight I viewed it and I am so glad. God always gives us exactly what we need, when we need it! The family in crisis in this movie is a prefect example of how difficult times can drive us mad! The choices and decisions this family was making were outside God's good plan and chaos erupted. The father character went through so much and was broken, but the prayers and love and grace of several people around him, finally motivated him to trust God and them. The mother made a very selfish, self-centered choice that further led to very sad times for their children. The oldest daughter began to harbor resentment, but she too came to a place to realize praising God was the way to go. When viewing this movie, keep an open mind. Just watch. Just listen! There is always something we can learn in our daily journey out of the bondage of selfishness and the stronghold of self-centered living. Living for God is the only true path to success: Spiritual success. This portrayal of a family and what they went through, was very familiar and realistic to me. Cute and fun to see it in an Australian setting. Much of this movie is funny. Told or shown, with a lot of quirky moments that help the viewer through what is at times, very sad moments. However I would never state this movie is depressive or dark. This movie had a great message for me to take away. We must never forget that our portion of suffering was first accepted by Christ Jesus. God states in His word that if we are to share in the glory of Christ, we must first share in His suffering. If we trust and learn to thank God, even in difficult times, soon we will see the wonderful blessings as bigger than the smaller disappointments. God is huge. Our issues are tiny compared to Him. Suffering hurts but when we are assured that God can bring good out of them, it is easier to accept them and wait for how God will repay us. Much like Job. Enjoy!! :) P.S. Check out a great book called-FACING YOUR GIANTS by Max Lucado. It really put our fears and troubles in perspective and remind us of what really matters in this life. Based on David's life. Very inspirational like this movie.
