Mine started to SMOLDER and BURN!!!

Please please please be careful buying this!!!! My son wanted theses for his 12th birthday. We set them up and they did look pretty cool. They had been up for two days. They were NEVER on longer than 2 hours at a time. I was about to go to be when I smelled something I went into his room and it was SMOLDERING. I quickLY unplugged it. If I had not had gone in there it could have burned down my house killing everyone in it!!! I have tried all week trying to get Govee to write me back so we can give them the lights so they can investigate what went wrong so someone else won’t have this problem. I sent pics and a video to them and it’s been 5 days and I haven’t heard anything. I couldn’t in clean conscious not say or do anything and see on the news someone died because of these lights.

This item works as advertised but the real story about this purchase is the customer service I received. Outstanding reply to a small problem! I hooked these up to my EchoDot and it worked fine, dim, change color etc. Except, when I told Alexa to make them white she replied with OK but they didn't change. Contacted customer support, they found the glitch in one day, posted an update within two days and the problem was fixed. So nice to see a company care about their product with such enthusiasm!!!

I'm turning my house into a smart home, and of course LED back lighting on a TV is a must. Originally I was going to go with Philip's hue, but after a lot of research I stumbled upon these. My biggest concern was price. I would have needed 2 sets of the Philip's hue to do my 65in TV. At $80 a pop, that's $160! So, these were 1/4 the price. My other main concern was Compatibility with my other smart devices. 10/10 again for Compatibility. Had it synced and connected to my google home in less than 2 minutes.

I love these light strips! I just got them in today. I immediately installed them on the back of my 55” Samsung flatscreen. Installation was easy. The 3M backing really stuck well, and time will tell how long they stay on. Hopefully a really long time!

Once installed, I turned the lights on, and paired with my home WiFi. You download The ap, create an account, and then pair your device. I also went to my Alexa ap and enables the Alexa skill for the Govee, and it works perfect. I tested out the music mode and several other modes, adjusted brightness up and down, and it works great.

Fixed my sons room up and added these led lights. Uploaded the app but it doesn’t work with all the strips. We had to cut it and use connectors. They do work but with app it only works with one strip. Maybe we did something wrong. He likes it though to use with the buttons on cord.

Really cool, lights can adjust brightness and you can set up your own color system with the app, and it’s true about the sound sensitivity. Setting up does take a little effort. My walls are crinkly/rigid, so I recommend using thumbtacks for the small plastic hangers.
Overall it’s highly recommended

I can't say enough good things about this LED strip. I am extremely picky & can assure you I am very happy with this product. Im not a paid reviewer and actually don't leave reviews often. But this light strip is absolutely worth the $. I cannot think of any cons, so here are some pros:

•• Long enough for a 75" LG TV ••
I originally put the lights much closer to the edge, and it didn't make it fully around the tv, so I adjusted until it and it fits perfectly. About 1" from the edge should work. To make it around the corners I simply folded the strip in a spot that wasn't 'stiff' with a light, but the flexible part between lights. (see back of photo TV for detail)

•• Very bright lights ••
Even with the strip being 1" off the edge of the TV, you can very much see the color reflection on the wall & around the TV itself.

•• The color options / settings are so much fun ••
I have this programmed to the Alexa and was able to change the color, motion of lights & opacity. Its fun to watch it motion with the beat of the music too! (can also be a little nauseating lol)

•• Smart app / speaker friendly ••
You can program this to your smart devices, set a timer & fully control from the app on your phone.

•• Smart app is wonderful!!! ••
The app is extremely colorful & bright. It's easy to use & all you have to do for setup is know your product #. See photos for the iOS app.
