If only I could provide zero, I would. So my history: 1) I submit claim, 2) I receive an email requesting to submit confirmation of purchase; 3) I submit two amazon receipts - for the product and the protection plan. The next thing I know - the claim is denied for “The product was not registered correctly.”
I call the number in Asurion denial email, for some reason it is Amazon. I explain myself, and they transfer me to Asurion. I say I want to cancel and the rep says “you don’t have to, we approve your claim, apologize for confusion, it was a claim registration error“. He says they would send Amazon gift card for full amount by email, and I don’t have send the product and just dispose. I believe the rep and I throw it away.
It’s 3rd day I don’t receive gift card by email. Check the junk mail - still nothing. I send an email to Asurion, asking for status. They don’t seem to recognize the previous communication and request to send the product back. I explain the situation asking what has changed since my call and now. Instead of ANY explanation by email, they deny my claim without even letting me know - and I found about it only after having called them again.
I called three times just to be transferred between the customer rep and the claim examiner, like a soccer ball. And they all then say - “because you don’t remember the name of the person you talked to, and we don’t have any other records in your account, unfortunately, your claim is denied”. Yes, ku heard it right - they were not able to find ANY records of my first conversation with Asurion rep.
Yeah - if you like suffering, go for it and purchase. I will stay away, and instead rely on my credit card protection next time.
