This is a reimagining in a dark gothic, somewhat uncomfortable way the story of Snow White. The drawing is beautiful art nouveau. The subject matter is graphic sex (adults) and a young child (the vampire) that borders on not ok. I just could not get into the story making this the first of Neil Gaiman’s work that I did not like. The art is so stylistic, and dark horror that I teeter between two and three stars. But I do not think I will ever read this again. Two stars. It wasn’t poorly done, just the vampire child biting the king over and over....coupled with the sex scenes just too close to subject matter I do not find I want to Look at. (And I am a fan of bodice ripper romance with lots of graphic descriptions. I just don’t like child ... not sure what to call it but it’s very close to child sex) and the ending... yup. Two stars. Borrow it if you can, if you like it fabulous, buy it. But this isn’t a fun story. It is very dark, not at All child friendly, and contains sex, and erotica involving a child. (Child is vampire/evil but still) no happily ever after in this work.
