Beautiful but hard for Kids to Understand
Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2019
I personally loved reading this book. But I’m a middle aged adult. My 5-year-old son, who got this book from the Prime Reading box for his age group, was totally confused. When we finished reading it he asked if we could exchange it for a book with a story. I argued that the story here is about a rock through the ages, and time, and helping us think about eternity through the lens of one place. Then he said, “Ok. So can we exchange it for a book with a kids’ story then?”
If you’re looking for a children’s book for adults, this is awesome and you won’t be disappointed. If you’re looking for a children’s book that young kids will actually want to read again and again, this isn’t that book.
