I dearly love my Fitbit Charge 4, so when the piece that fits in the watch band was accidentally broken off, I was devastated. Luckily I had purchased the 3 yr insurance plan with Asurion. I made a claim and dropped it off at the UPS drop-off the same day. The next day I had a $143 dollar gift card to purchase and new one. Super fast...super easy. And, yes. you bet I bought an insurance plan for my new one. I can't praise this company enough for their super service.

Discrimination against a disabled person

We bought the Asurion Protection Plan for my son's Air Pods. When one fell out of his ear and he ran over it with his wheelchair tire and crushed it, we filed a claim with Asurion. They denied it because it was ruined by his wheelchair tire. They said they would have covered it had he stepped on it with his foot. I explained that he is disabled due to a neuromuscular disorder and can't walk so he uses a wheelchair full-time. I said that his wheels are "his legs and feet". They still denied the claim. This is discrimination against the disabled. Their website states they won an award for "Forbes Best Employer for Diversity List" (which includes the disabled), yet they do not follow through with discrimination against disabled customers. This is definitely appalling!

My Fitbit Versa 2 had a cracked screen so I filed a claim using Asurion because I bought the warranty. The process was confusing because they only gave you a shipping label and no instructions. It took over a week to finally hear a response, and then another 4 days to get credit to my amazon account. They only refunded me $150 to buy another watch. I originally bought the watch on sale for that price, but it is no longer on sale and costs over $200 on amazon, which is the only place I can use my credit through this warranty. When I contacted customer service, I was told "too bad" and that I have to spend over $60 (because of taxes) of my own money to replace my watch. This warranty is a scam and useless and I do not recommend buying.

Asurion Does Not Honor Their Warranty

I think from now on I will purchase from Square Trade. I had bought a TV ($100's of dollars) and had an Asurion warranty. My disabled son was reaching over it and there were Christmas bulbs under it where he laid the TV down to reach the plug behind it. When his body pressed down on the TV trying to reach and unplug the cord behind it, his weight damaged the screen. When we sent it in to Asurion, they said it was done on purpose and they would only honor "accidental" damages and would not replace the TV. Square Trade would have NEVER DONE THAT!

What a waste of a company

As I write this review, I am still waiting on hold (over an hour now) to try to resolve the fact that Asurion found "additional damage to [my] phone when they were inspecting it and decided to charge me an additional $160, above and beyond the money I already paid for the replacement phone. I called the number given in the correspondence that informed me of this charge, and was only given options to file a new claim. After finally getting through to someone who can provide some assistance, all he was able to do was submit a request to the finance department (to whom he refused to transfer my call) to reconsider the charge... You know. The unauthorized $160 theft that they are considering a charge. So... even now (one hour twenty-five minutes by now), I do not have a guarantee that I will get my money back. After all of this, I am looking at the cost of the re-furbished phone that they sent me (and charged me $189 for) and finding that I can get it cheaper on pretty much any online phone store. Indeed. I pay $50 per month for the privilege of overpaying for a replacement phone and having no choice in the type thereof. What a great example of product insurance at its best.

I was hoping I would not need to use this plan, but alas the Garmin GPS watch I purchased is wearing out less than two years old. Asurian is somewhat difficult to navigate, best to call them, that too is a challenge. They will only refund you back in an Amazon gift card, and only for purchase price, not also sales tax, which, can be quite a bit. This is proof that maybe extended warranties aren't always as great as they seem.

Purchased JBL noise cancelling headphones and after a year and 5 months of use they cracked just above the hinges. I pulled up my receipt and receipt for Asurion. I went on web site typed in information and got my approval and shipping label. Within 2 days I received my amazon gift card to replace my headphones. Usually insurance and accident coverage for items don’t come through for me, but this company did. Thank you very much for making it easy and actually covering my purchase!

Poor protection and response

Ordered with a Fitbit for $17.11 on 3/9/20 . The Fitbit went bad within 2 mos. I called Asurion and was told that I would have to contact Fitbit.
What?? Excuse me??
I called called for warranty service because I ordered from it from them.
Then they dissed me .

I contacted Asurion via chat because my left earbud stopped working. I was provided tech support and when it could not be resolved I was offered full credit for my purchase. Immediately I was sent a paid shipping label and once I dropped off my package to UPS I received my credit in an electronic gift card in 24 hr. The insurance was worth more than I paid for it!! Don’t skip over it definitely purchase it if it’s offered!
