I kept waiting for something to happen

Danielle Steele's novels are a guilty pleasure for me, and I like to read them when I don't have to think too much, and can be entertained by a world that I will never inhabit. So, I picked this one because I thought there could be a pretty good story with some action and suspense. Well, this novel read like the plot for what could have been a pretty good book. There wasn't any real detail about all the places where she was a spy and could have gotten caught. One example was during her WWII missions, there was a sentence that basically said, "In all her time as a spy, she had successful missions." Well, what missions? What constituted "success"? Who was sending her on these "missions"? What impact did her various language skills have on the missions? I could go on and on. The book was like a filled out outline for what could have been a very entertaining read. Ms. Steele, I am disappointed!
