I feel crazy bc no one else has mentioned it, but I’m confused about what age group this book is appropriate for. The illustrations are cute and made me believe it would be appropriate for my 6 year old who is an advanced reader. Flipping through it though, I found a reference to “sexuality”, which I don’t find to be appropriate terminology for young kids. But if the book is meant for kids old enough to understand sexuality, then the illustrations seem childish (and almost demeaning of all these powerful Black men?Why the need to make them look like children?). I’m disappointed bc I don’t feel like I can comfortably add this one to my kids’ collection, which is too bad. I also agree with others that the choice of those represented seemed a little bit off the mark.
