To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The Women's Fight is a terrific scholarly history of the domestic struggle on the home fronts during the American Civil War. It outlines the effects of the war on slave-owning, enslaved, and free women and their families in both the South and the North. Stories are well researched and documented, based on historic accounts (through letters and memoir) and each is worth a drama, a book, or a film in its own right. The stories are often messy, as is life, but the themes are universal. I especially came away with greater understanding, and humility, at the changes endured by enslaved women during and after the war.
