The second installment of the Reaper series in the Renegade Star Universe. This book engaged my interest in the story early and held it throughout the entire book. As I enjoyed the first book in the series, I was not expecting to like this one so much more. The authors are settling in for a great run.

The first book was ok, but the ending did not indicate one of the main characters was a "host". Then the second book started with him a host, and somehow teamed with another host. Like one or two chapters were missing. IMO not good. Quit reading the book. Waste of time/money. I also tend not to buy books less than 300+ pages so 2x waste.

Cain is going after Elise.

Cain seems to be having problems with his cybernetic implants and also seems to have seen another Reaper.

Cain also is having worries about Elise, seem someone has found her and wants to sell her to the Union. Lots of fighting and gore.

The Reaper series features a superb mix of action, comedy, and mystery. This second book is very strong! My only complaint is that, after 2 books, we still don’t know what Elise has gone through! I’m awaiting those revelations...maybe in book 3?
