Society of Wishes starts in a world that I could easily see as a potential future in the real world. But the real action of the series happens when Jo is forced to join the Society of Wishes as the payment for her desperate wish. I don't know how to say much without giving away spoilers, but these books hold several twists, turns, and unexpected surprises that kept me wanting to read the rest. this series was packed with action and had plenty of sweet, though sometimes agonizing, romantic moments, especially later in the series. I rated each book individually between 4 and 5 stars and Age of Magic was by far my favorite book in the series.
Although Prince of Gods is first in the timeline, taking place ages before our present time, I wouldn't recommend reading it before reading Birth of Chaos because it's contents could spoil some secrets. So, my recommended reading order would be Society of Wishes, Circle of Ashes, then Birth of Chaos. After that, Age of Magic or Prince of Gods would be fun.
The first book is orientation to a whole nuther world outside of time so its a little slow with the build up but once it gets going, hold on. It's got action and adventure, but also some good steam as well as angst and tears... This series has it all. Don't wonder if you should buy it. DO IT!!
I enjoyed this series. Great concepts and romance! It's a common theme among Elise Kova books where I eat through them super fast and finish the series. They are fast paced and flow really well! I would definitely recommend this series!
Wish Quartet is a series that has a lot of lovely characters who really bring out the whole spectrum of feelings in you. If you like books based on mythological themes and characters, give this series a try - they're quick reads and will bring you to places you don't expect!
