Purchased a refurbished InstaPot in May of 2020. Ruined several pots of rice before I realized that there was a problem with the machine. Had actually forgotten about Protection Plan, but was cleaning out email and ran across a "Thanks for purchasing" email. Oddly, there was no reference to what it was attached to. Pulled up Amazon orders and there was no mention of it with the InstaPot purchase, so wasn't sure. Called the customer service line, got a rep on the phone in under a minute, was told that yes the insurance was attached to the InstaPot, filed a claim, the full purchase price will be refunded to an Amazon gift card - the whole process took less than 4 minutes! Amazing. Painless. I do have to return the pot, but they will send a UPS label. She also told me that failed timers are an issue with these appliances. I've never purchased such insurance before, but am now a convert!

Don’t waste your money!

We bought our product in October 2019, along with a 4year Asurion protection plan. Almost 4 months later our product stopped working.

I filed a claim with Asurion 2 weeks ago and have not heard back from them.

I called today and got a recording stating that to review a claim, visit Asurion.com/Amazon.
When I go to that site, it says “couldn’t find server”.

Don’t waste your money!

If it had zero stars. I would have given them zero.
I bought an Instant pot Duo Nova. Which I might say is an excellent product. Unfortunately, I spilled oil in the base of the cooker, rendering unusable. I contacted Asurion because I bought a 4-year protection plan off them, which covered accidents, spills etc. They responded in saying that accidental damage is not covered on this instant Pot. Their general statement, which they changed repeatedly was that it is not covered because it is not a portable item. The fine print does not define portable but their own Q&A section states that if an item can be easily carried and transferable then its termed portable. This Pot is only 6 quarts easy to carry and transferable.
Why sell a protection plan on a kitchen protection pan when you are not going to honor your agreement
Stay away from this.

Asurion's Protection Scams

Trust me on this one you all. You would be wise to take the money you would have to pay for ANY of Asurion's Protection Scams and set it aside. Once you are in need of a repair take that money and have it fixed through the original company. The majority of these companies will work on a fair deal to please both parties, often at little or no cost. Asurion is nothing but a third party scam plain and simple. Amazon has always been great and I have appreciated them over the years. You have a problem and Amazon always takes care of it. This has not been the case when I have worked with Asurion on two separate occasions. If you must find out for yourself go ahead and take the risk, but please read Asurion's "fine print". If you value your time and want to save yourself a headache pass on ALL Asurion's Protection Scams. If you have already purchased several of Asurion's Protection Scams like I had you can return them through Amazon and they will gladly refund your money! Thanks Amazon for always working hard to take care of your customers. Asurion might want to take a lesson or two from Amazon regarding honesty and customer service. Never have I been lied to so much by a company's customer service, let alone mocked after treating the agent with dignity and respect. If Amazon offers their own Insurance Protection Plans I am all in. However, that will be the last time I fall for a third party "protection plan".

I had bought an Asurion protection plan for my phone several years ago. They do make you jump through a few hoops to get service and you have to be patient, but I’m sure that’s to protect themselves against scammers (which if they didn’t, scammers would increase the cost of their service).
They did replace my phone Satisfactorily satisfactorily(I had dropped it in water and then it no longer worked, even after using the rice trick).
so I bought the protection plan for my coffee maker, and today I started the process of filing a claim.
Their website totally impressed me with its efficient design (a very good sign, considering their service) it’s very easy to go through the process of filing a claim. However, finally they determined that my product was still under manufacturer warranty and they gave me a phone number to call. Reasonable.
(I did call that number and got excellent assistance from Keurig)
I would definitely consider buying Asurion again for certain products (I just did again this week, for a printer), simply because they seem to know what they’re doing, and demonstrate that with good website design!

I bought a Ninja Blender 2 years ago. Last week, a huge crack developed along the entire bottom of the pitcher and cracking was starting along the bottom of the handle portion of the pitcher. At first it stated it was still covered by the manufacturer warranty but it wasn't so I chatted with a rep from Asurion who immediately took action and within 5 minutes, approved my claim and emailed me a prepaid shipping label. As soon as I shipped the product back to Asurion, I was emailed my gift card code for the price of what I paid for the blender. I'll be getting my new blender tomorrow and of course, I bought a new 4 year protection plan to cover the new blender. All I had to do was pay for the tax on the blender and the protection plan!!! I'm so glad I had bought the plan and with things being as disposable as they are nowadays, I've been buying protection plans for everything big that I buy. Do yourself a favor... Get the protection plan!!! It was such a quick and easy process and I'm completely satisfied with the outcome of my claim.

This is the first time I bought a protection policy and you never think the product will fail but I wanted to protect my purchase. I am thrilled with how easy the process was and how responsive Asurion was. The claim was filed on line and the money was provided back to me as a Amazon gift card via email and loaded into Amazon so I could repurchase the item. I had to send the product back via UPS which was a slight problem finding a box big enough and I wasn't sure what I should send back. The process was very quick and I reordered in just a few days. I would highly recommend buying the protection.

I used this for a coffee maker when it’s internal water pump died. Therefore, I had a machine with a full tank of water I could not empty (without damaging the unit, and I was not going to to that.) I contacted Asurion to let them know about this water issue, and told them you can’t ship liquid filled machines like that. I let Asurion know this by using their online “chat box” with a real person (not a “bot”) and they understood my issue and escalated my case. Less than 24 hours later, all was resolved from them. Great to deal with.
