Contains my WD 5TB Elements external hard drive just fine. It's got a padded internal lining for protection against damage, and a nice elastic strap to keep my drive from moving around too much. The inner mesh pouch is sufficient for the special cable that came with my drive. I like the padded flap that's positioned between the mesh pouch and the drive compartment - it helps to keep the metal parts of the cable from scratching the drive.

If your drive is CLOSE to the listed dimensions make sure that it has ROUNDED CORNERS

Listing says that the "Internal dimensions: 5.11 x 3.54 x 1.0 inches". This will not fit my Lacie "Porsche Designs" 4TB Drive (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01DHFNZSI) due to it's very square corners. The drive's dimensions are 5 x 3.3 x 0.08" so figured it should have fit.

If your drive is close to the listed dimensions make sure that it has very rounded corners (1/2" radius round over or it will NOT fit)

Very good case for portable HDDs

I bought this for use in transporting a WD Elements 4TB HDD, the other size WD HDD's are all the same size so it will it them all. I purchased this to replace the original soft case I bought from WD that they don't sell anymore. That one lasted about 12 years or more of carrying it in my briefcase to and from my office every day.
This hard case is a good size, the drive fits without too much additional space, it is well padded and hard enough to protect the HDD. The interior has 2 sides, one to strap in the HDD, the other for accessories such as a cable. It is roomy enough to carry a bit more. This was not advertised as a 2 HDD case. The side where the HDD straps in has additional padding between the Drive and the exterior hard case. The exterior is a plastic formulation. A padded flap then sits on top of the Drive to the interior of the case. It appears well made, the zipper has a small handle to open and close, there is even a small metal ring attached to a cloth strap sewn into the other end of the zipper and a small carabiner included. It looks like the Drive will be well protected as there is a close fit to the height. There is about 3/4" to 7/8" additional space to the long axis, but the width is a snug fit. An elasticized band hold the drive tightly, on the opposite side of the case there is a half high net with elastic band top to hold a cable or other small items. I am pretty particular when it comes to items like this and I would recommend this case.
I take care of my things, I think a HDD would survive a short drop without damage but this is NOT rated for any drops. I would trust the case if a minor amount of liquid hit it, such as a light rain for a short time if you carried this in your hand from building to car lets say.

I wanted a case that was just big enough to fit my WD Black P10 drive and have ample padding and protection, and this was an exact match. Since my drive is about 1/4" thicker than most other external drives, the case does have a slightly snug fit when the the USB cable is stored in the mesh pocket, and it's zipped shut. It won't affect protection of the drive, but I'm concerned that it might apply too much pressure to any SD cards stored in the interior padding flap. The lanyard and carabiner are sturdy and well-made, but I doubt I'll use them much. The outer EVA material seems sturdy, with just enough pliability to add additional shock absorption.
The top of the case is not as pictured in the product description. It has a raised "H" pattern. It's not a big deal for me since I knew about it by reading previous reviews prior to purchase.
I'm happy with it.

I've Tried Several External HDD Cases - This One Takes the Cake.

I was and am thoroughly impressed with this case. The sturdiness, the feel, the price point (under $10 at the time of purchase), the fit, and the amount of cushion for your 2.5" external hard drive.

I find it to simply be a plus that it has two other compartments for storage, which appear to be meant for SD cards (but could be used for whatever fits inside, of course).

The other two 2.5" external HDD cases I have were also purchased on Amazon for around $10. They are decent, but this was blows them out of the water with it's sturdy feel, small additions, and more than adequate cushioning.

What I like best about this is it can hold all the things that go with my pocket hard drive. The case is very well designed with a flap that separates the cables from the hard drive, so that minimizes the chances of the cable tips getting damaged. The case comes with a carrying strap that fits over your hand, should you prefer to carry it that way. Otherwise, if you place it in a briefcase, or a back pack, then it truly doesn't take up much room, and stores away quite nicely. I have a laptop back that it fits in and one would not know that it is in there, it is that compact. Bottom line, this is well made of quality materials and is well thought out for it's compact design.

Weak zipper renders it worthless...

I purchased it on Jan 15th, 2021. The zipper broke on January 26th, 2021.

Also, I had to use a smaller external hard drive then they claimed it would hold because the specs are on the small end of things.

Kind of like a fish story. If I would have used the original hard drive I purchased this case for, most likely the zipper would have broken sooner.

Customer service was great and took care of the issue immediately, but I will not be repurchasing this unit.

If you want a super durable case, go for the Case Logic brand. Particularly this model, Case Logic PHDC1BK, for external hard drive. I already own one of these and these are absolute tanks. It's worth the extra buck or two they charge.

I have purchased two cases for my WD 1TB and 2TB External Hard Drives. The drives fit perfectly in the case. The case is sturdy enough to use for travel. Comes with a wrist strap and a caribiner, for easy carry. The drive has an elastic strap to hold the drive securely and there is a mesh pocket to hold your power cord. There are also two pockets for SD Storage cards. All in all this is a neat little carry case for the external drive. Well done designing.

I've purchased three (3) of these cases so that I could store my MyPassport external HDDs in a case safely.

DO MY PRODUCTS FIT IN WELL?
My 2TB HDD fit perfectly well, the fit wasn't too tight even when I fit the HDD's cable into the case's pocket.
As for my 4TB HDDs, while they fit in on their own perfectly, when I added an HDD's USB cable to the case, the fit became too tight for my preference even though the HDDs still fit safely and the force exerted on them wasn't anywhere near enough to harm them.

PROTECTIVENESS
The cases protect whatever is inside them very well. The cases are made of very high-quality, durable materials and they're very sturdy. While I don't take my HDDs with me outside, if I did do so I would feel confident that they would remain safe inside of the cases, that if the cases fell to the ground then my HDDs would remain perfectly unharmed.

I Love this. I bought it for my son's ears as he gets a build up and was wanting to see as the doctors do. Well I have even used this for me, it is amazing.
