Another well plotted story in the Inselkommissarin Series by Anna Johannsen! I am very grateful to be able to just download a German book in seconds. In the old days I had to wait for weeks for a book to be sent to me by my German family. As in the other books in this series, you keep meeting the same central characters. I like character development, as well as the introduction of new players. I particularly enjoy the respectful interaction of the characters with each other, and their professionalism. The locales are always interesting to visit and revisit. I like to take a cool stroll along the North Sea with Lena when the temperatures here in Central California are hovering above the 40 degree C mark! In this police procedural Lena and team are trying to solve a 3 month old murder. As is often the case, the obvious suspect isn’t necessarily the culprit, and thus we follow Lena’s sometimes frustrating journey through a maze of new suspects and Sackgassen. But our Lena is tenacious, and she always finds her man.... or woman. Thank you Anna! I just downloaded the next installment! 😁
I enjoyed all of her books and really appreciated to read books written in the German language. I speak both languages, English & German quite well and the only reason I gave only 3 stars, the translation was good but could have been better. There were grammatical & spelling errors as well as some rather 'free' translations. I believe all of her books I have read so far have that same problem but it obviously did not stop me from reading so many. It was fun to read books written in the German language.
