Top critical review
Hard to write, very hard

This review is very, very difficult for me. The three star rating? As far as I know, my first one that how for any KGU books and absolutely a first time low for a TH book. Why?
First let me qualify this - if you aren't reading Judge Rivka, you might have a somewhat better opinion.
That being said...
The first problem is that I already knew the big picture events because of the part if plays in one of Rivka's books. Was the extra detail in the full version of the story worth it? Possibly.
Next, this book almost felt like it was a "have to get one out" book. I think maybe it's been a year since the last Bad Company book. And this is a pity because it is a great series. I would have to go back and read my review of the last book in the series but I think maybe it was 4 stars? Maybe not.
Regardless of all of that, it is still Terry Henry, Char and the Bad Company so it is good reading and if you haven't read the magistrate's books, then I am sure it is better. Of course that raises the question, if you haven't read hers then why not?
All if all, not as good as it good be. Is it actually just 3 stars? Maybe not. It is most likely a 3.5 but that isn't an option. If it's your only series in this "universe" then it very likely might make 4 stars. Am I glad I bought it? Absolutely. Am I glad I read it? Definitely. Would I do it all again? For sure! And you should too!
