This book has helped countless of men get free from sexual addiction and pornography and learn to live sexually whole lives and regarn purity and self control and self integrity. This is THE book on this topic. Every man should be required to read this book

I checked this out, based on friend's review. A few taboo stories with uncomfortable detail were to be expected, but this goes way too far. Whether you're simply exploring an option for a male themed devotional, or (definitely) if this area is already a struggle for you, I CANNOT RECOMMEND this book. Sharing your testimony and getting something off your chest are important, however the anecdotes in this literature are far too elaborate. It almost reads like a means to indulgence, rather than a help book against the issues it claims to address. I'm no Old School uptite prude, but there needs to be a limit.

I really wanted to love what the authors were trying to do. The message of purity and faithfulness is important. But there is so much wrong with this book. All throughout, women are referred to with objectifying and sexualized language. The authors discount and dismiss the clinical definition of sexual addiction and use multiple examples of criminal behavior as "normal sexual activity for normal Christian guys". The 20th expanded addition did not remove most problematic issues with the original book, and actually added more harmful info.

This book is absolutely disgusting. Rather than encouraging men to take responsibility for their own sinful behavior and thoughts (remember the verse in the Bible where Jesus says “if your eye offends you pluck it out?” - yeah, you won’t see any of that in here). You won’t see the author encouraging men to think of women as part of God’s amazing creation to be treated with respect and honor. You won’t see the author explaining how to take every thought under captivity and how God provides a way of escape. But you will see some pornographic descriptions that simply do not belong in Christian literature at all, much less one that is supposed to help men who are struggling with lust.
To put it simply, this is not a God honoring or scriptural book in any sense and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It’s perverted and beyond despicable. If I could leave a negative star review I would.

The worst book! Only excuses men's desires for force sex, encourages preying on children...

This books is simply to excuse men's desires for force sex, thoughts of rape, incest, or to live an immoral life. It also pushes to manipulate the woman in to thinking they are wrong for not wanting to engage in sex, or coupling. This book uses very negative descriptions of women, (Sex objects - like a methadone-like-fix.) They preach that it is normal and typical to "masturbate" while lying next to their sister-in-law, or for a 30-something man feeling sexually aroused by 15 years old children, that he was supposed to be ministering to. The book says that it is normal to experience "sexual sin" because men are created to experience that sin, and that the only way to rise above those sinful desires, would be to "get rid of the women."

Instead of teaching men to RESPECT women, to know that "no" means "NO!", and teach men that it is NOT up to the women in their lives to succumb to a man's desires, in order to protect some innocent child from rape. THIS BOOK IS A GUIDE TO TEACHING MEN HOW TO BECOME SEXUAL PREDATORS AND MONSTERS. It is only written for that, and to made women feel that they are either a piece of meat, or responsible for the actions of men, or that what men are feeling is totally okay.
