We use paper towels like crazy in our house for everything from cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms to using as napkins when eating. We traditionally buy Bounty but have used more expensive brands also. We compared these to Bounty’s select a size towels. Both are the same size (11x6 inches for a full sheet). Bounty comes with 143 sheets, Amazon with 140 sheets per roll. The Bounty sheets are softer, while these are a bit stiff. But for cleaning that’s not really an issue. We laid both side by side and put 1 TB water on each. (See pics- Bounty on the left, Amazon on the right.) Both absorbed the same; neither absorbed all the water; both held up equally well. No lint or falling apart for either. The one issue with the Amazon brand is they didn’t quite fit on our over-the-door paper towel holder. The tubing seemed smaller (the paper towel rolls are much tighter packed into a roll) and we had to shove the towels onto the roll. Minus 1 star for that design flaw, and for not being as soft as Bounty. Otherwise, if cheaper than Bounty, by all means these are a better buy. Not bad overall.

The 12 rolls of paper towels I got are not what I usually buy, but in these days of Covid 19, I was pleased to get them UNTIL I got the first one wet. The smell is some where between stinky cheese and laundry left in the washer for a week. I wash my hands frequently and when I used these paper towels to dry my hands I had to go back and wash my hands again. The smell clung to my skin. My son, who can wear the same clothes several day, if I let him, will not use them. There is no evidence of the towels getting wet after manufacturing. I am not using them any more as this may be bacterial growth in the process of making these towels.

These are the worst paper towels. Ever. They're as thin as toilet tissue and are a complete and total disappointment. I bought them because they were the only option during this coronavirus shortage of paper products, but I could never recommend these for anyone. Save your money. You're better off using clean rags that can be washed and reused.

$25 for Amazon 12 rolls 140 ply paper towels or $17 for Sam’s club 15 rolls 150 ply paper towels. You do the math. For us we will stick with Sam’s club brand, Amazon subscription base cost savings as become more and more disappointing since the COVID pandemic.

Mousey smell!!!

Amazon substituted these for my Viva brand that I've used for years.
Don't know why, but these smell like mouse per as soon as they get moist. Don't smell when dry, don't find any moisture stains on the package, but as soon as I start drying my hands, that moist smell is there.
Don't appreciate being sent inferior product. Been buying Viva from Amazon for years - one would think they would have set product aside for their long-time subscription customers.
Gonna get pissed (pun intended) every time I use these paper towels!

Cheap and expensive

For the price, I thought I was getting a higher quality paper towel. These are equivalent to dollar store paper towels. They are super cheap, they do not turn on a paper towel holder, and they do not tear in sheets causing you to use twice as many as you need each time. If you're looking for a name-brand equivalent, this is not it. *Adding to my review, as I see some others having the same issue. These produce a dust...warning! My kitchen has become twice as dusty as it normally is. Again I can not stress enough...these are the worst paper towels on the face of the planet. I never thought a product would get to me...but these paper towels actually produce anger within me. :)

If you were hoping for Bounty quilted towels, think again. These towels are quite literally paper-thin. Much thinner, even, than the brown paper towels you'll find in service station restrooms. Come to think of it, it's more like the toilet paper used in those restrooms. Pass on this one.

Even though I thought I could use them because I couldn't get anything else, I was wrong. I can't! And I can't walk in my kitchen without just asking myself "what is that horrible smell"?

The smell is similar to dirty wet dog that has been saturated with old cigarettes.
