This is the best book I have ever read about this time in my life as an older women.. I am about 1/2 way through and will pick it up and read it again when I am finished. Tons of information about life perspectives.
A tender summary sifted through gentle hands. There are few books to help ageing women navigate the waters of their later years. Thank goodness, there were no "to do" lists or guilt trips included. Just a gentle drifting.
Then read this book. I found it filled with lovely advice that most of us already know. But, turning 70 in a month (something I have looked forward to) this book has made me feel old and as if time is short so I need to keep that in mind as I go about cherishing family and friends. Quite liberal leaning as well. I don’t often get depressed and am not now, but this book has hung on to me to this point: if I were given to depression this would tilt me into a full blown depression period. Can’t recommend it and definitely won’t read it again. (I know...some of you think I am old but I assure you I’m not, and hope you aren’t either!).
