The cables they send you to charge these boxes with are so incredibly short, which basically means I can't use it while it's charging. I bought longer cables (from AmazonBasics), but these devices won't charge while they're playing sound, or something. I don't know what's up with mine. I bought two of them so I could use "Party Stereo Mode" with my laptop and be on a dedicated charger at all times. They just drain the batteries and die. And I'm not exactly sure how to get them to recharge again. Perhaps unplugging them and re-plugging them has done the trick, but I don't know. These devices are constantly drained on battery, and one of them, for some reason, won't play Heroes of the Storm sounds from my laptop, but will play everything else (the other speaker will play Heroes of the Storm sounds, as well as my Creative Airwave speaker). They're not easy, or particularly intuitive, to use.
These are so weird. I would suggest you not buy these, at least if you're trying to use them like this. For a party or something, they're probably wonderful. They do sound great, but my frustrations with the devices far outweigh the positives. For $60, it is some pretty darn good sound. It's just sad my $2 Creative Airwave speaker is outshining it with considerably worse sound. That device actually charges correctly.
The battery doesn't last 4 hours at 50-60% volume. I take it for a long walk and it dies 3/4 thru the walk. It's also heavy for its size. I like the strap, main selling point for me. It operates nicely, like the controls. Won't charge with high power USB c, must use a USB c to USB A wall charger - very annoying since laptop/tablet chargers don't work with it. I have an old Logitech wireless Bluetooth same size battery lasts twice as long, it's just as loud and is much lighter and sounds just as good.
In purchased a pair after reading the reviews. I wanted a pair primarily for party mode. I find it almost impossible to get it to work in party mode. When I find something that works once it doesn’t the next try. Very frustrating & disappointing. Thinking of returning them.
No problem with the sound which is as good as advertised. The problem is that the box powers itself down after 10 minutes of inactivity. This feature cannot be over-ridden and renders the speaker useless as an "always on" speaker for my Echo device.
