Full of insights into the Hebrew text

This book is a study on the life of Jacob from a Jewish perspective. The first half focuses on Jacob himself, and the second half focuses on Jacob's children, with a special focus on Joseph. In the book, Dr. Eli takes you through the major Biblical events of Jacob's life, and he breaks down the Hebrew for each section explaining the nuances of the passage that often go unnoticed in translation. This is more than just a commentary; it has word studies and insights into the culture and context of the time. I found it a fantastic and challenging read, and it helps me to understand the Jacob story, its purpose, and its various interpretations in a much deeper way. Highly recommended.
