I loved returning to Cape Cod and the McDonald's world. Brendan McDonald is a gorgeous, talented hockey pro who despite his playboy public persona is battling inner demons. Paige Wheeler is his high school best friend's little sister and not only is she a talented hockey player in her own right, she's a compelling, strong woman. Brendan and Paige's chemistry leaps off the page and you're cheering for these two from the start.
This story had some dramatic twists and unexpected turns. I enjoyed their story so much and as usual, enjoy Ms. O'Sullivan's ability to transport the reader to Cape Cod. I've never been there, but feel like I'll recognize it when I finally do visit.
I'm a sucker for life long crushes coming together in the end.
Paige is the little sister of Brendan's best friend. They grew up together playing hockey and secretly in love with each other. When Brendan returns home four years after HS as an NHL star, he sees Paige in a bar and they end up spending some time together.
Fast forward 5 years and Brendan comes home for Xmas to find Paige still there and he'd been trying to reaching for years. He had no clue she'd been reaching out to him but their messages were never delivered. Paige has a surprise for him, their son.
It was a great Xmas read that once I started I couldn't put down!
Brendan MacDonald is professional hockey player. It seems he goes home to heal when he is hurt. This time he runs into Paige Wheeler, his best friends sister that followed them everywhere. She is grown up and has him thinking thoughts he shouldn't. They day after went wrong. Neither had each others phone numbers and people were stopping them from connecting. Several years later he is back and injured. Can she hate him? Will she give him a second chance at love? With as big as the MacDonald family is, you better get your life together or someone with give you a swift kick in the rear.
WOW I am really enjoying Holiday Hunk well at least two of them so far, I really enjoy binge reading great romance and this is a another one in this series, the couples are exciting and heartwarming with sizzling relationships. This is beautiful written and very entertaining I intend to read them all.
Brendan and Paige grew up loving hockey and eventually each other. , Someone wants to keep them apart and has done a good job for five years, now they have reconnected but can they overcome the past. Good Read
NHL star Brendan MacDonald is every sports fan's- and their girlfriend' - dream. Handsome, fit, hey he's even an underwear "model" for one of the companies he promotes. Home and injured one Christmas he sees Paige Wheeler across a crowded bar. Jeff, Paige's brother, and Brendan were best buds once upon a time but Brendan can't believe the gorgeous woman standing a few feet away from him can be the same pain in the neck little sister that used to follow them around. But she is. And Brendan's seriously interested in getting to know the woman she's become. One night together proves more than either of them can forget. Flash forward five years and Brendan's at a crossroads in his career. When he comes back to town - again at Christmas and runs into Paige, he starts to reevaluate all that's happened in his life and with the girl that he hasn't ever been able to stop thinking about. But Paige isn't the same girl he left behind. There' s one very big change in her life and that change has a lot to do with her past time with Brendan. Told in her usual quick witted and easy style, Ms. O'Sullivan has given her readers another "Macdonald Cousin" to love and route for. The underlying theme of family, of fighting for what you want and what you believe in, and of unconditional love that the author brings to all her works, is once again on full display here. The friends to lovers trope, and coming home again message of the book are done so well here. I devoured this book in a day because it was for me -as are all O'SUllivan's books - unputdownable. 5 stars to another fabulous Katie O'Sullivan story. And it's no surprise I loved it. You will, too!
I’m a sucker for a holiday romance, and Ms. O’Sullivan quickly tapped into my emotions with this Holiday Hunks story.
Brendan is an injured hockey player with a bad boy reputation. Paige makes ends meet by living with her parents and working a lackluster job. One of them is guarding a secret that involves the other. Good or bad, secrets have a way of complicating life.
I’ve been an O’Sullivan fan for a couple of years. True to her style, this second chance romance is a pleasure to read. Her flair for witty dialogue and entertaining descriptions will keep you turning the page. The characters are believable, and the story is fast-moving. From the Hot Hunks Steamy Romance Collection, BRENDAN’S CHRISTMAS SURPRISE gets 5 glistening stars.
