Thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you've experienced some frustration with the set. If something ever seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be, which can cause instability. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together.
If you need a hand troubleshooting the build, you can get in touch with our brick experts. Just head to your Amazon order history, find this item in the list, and choose the "get product support" option. - Emily, LEGO® Customer Service
So I've been a Lego fan since childhood, and now with kiddos of my own, I'm amazed at all the new types of brickwork that Lego has developed. Lego Avengers is a good line of bricks.
For the Avengers Truck Take-Down, we have a 477 piece set, at below $0.10/brick, so that's a plus. For the most part, it's simple construction. I think that the hinging on the truckbed and the robot arms were the trickiest parts as far as complexity for my kiddos. A teen or adult will build this set in their sleep.
The Avengers Truck in my opinion looks best while closed up, and all the gimmick-y parts (robot arms, Hawkeye's peg-shooter, and the flamethrowers) are rather cheeze-ball. BUT, those were the parts that my kiddos loved the most, so we see that Lego has the right idea when marketing to kids. I like that Lego brought A.I.M. into the mix, although I laugh at the souped-up tricycle that is their battle vehicle. Again, my kiddos loved that too! The AIM troopers are great, but I'm not sure what the drone was for--they look very much like Mysterio's drones from Spiderman: Far From Home.
Overall, the playset is great as far as my kiddos think. I think it's a value purchase pricewise, and has it's charm as an Avengers set! Adult Lego purchasers may like the Avengers Truck untransformed, but this set may be most useful as fodder for bigger custom builds.
