Not worth the money!
Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2020
I feel cheated by Robert Dallek. His book is largely a disappointing rehash of secondary sources and previous books written by him. It is neither incisive nor interesting. Remarkably, is is also not well edited, e.g. he writes that Eisenhower was Army chief of staff in 1942 and opposed the invasion of North Africa and as any middling student of WW II history knows, it was George Marshall.
Shame on Robert Dallek, don’t waste your money on this book - I wish I didn’t.
