Troublesome. Great power sucks it leaks bc if it!

I bought 2 of these in February 2021 for different households; one for 90yr mom so the caregivers can make her a smoothie with all the nutrients in morning as she is developing disphagie; and myself in a small apt to make smoothies when I remember.
They both leak... meaning the cover loosens bc of the power of the blender. Even when we tighten the blade lid it manages to loosens. It didn’t happen immediately maybe after the 3x and the cover isn’t filled beyond the max line. It’s not all the time but it leaks through the base and you have to soak it up with a towel and bang it out. I only used it 3x and it stopped working and would have known but I switched my base w/ moms thinking I’d only have to deal with replacement of one unit except the caregiver said my base wasn’t working either. Double whammy. Not working means when plugged in no electricity runs through it.. It doesn’t light up. My mom’s is used more often: using only once day since February. Something wrong if both don’t work at different locations and usage.
I’m put off writing a review bc I wanted to give company a chance to rectify so I reached out to the customer # last Thursday and said I would get an email in 24hrs and it’s Tuesday and still no response. I’m going to call again as Amazon says I have to go through company.
I really like the unit if it didn’t leak or if it didn’t stop working.
I’m out $ for both units and mom doesn’t have her smoothies! I just want a refund at this point bc this problem will persist.
I’ll send an update if this is resolved.
Wouldn’t buy this unit unless they change the cover and the base.
