2.0 out of 5 starsTwo uses and break

At first glance, this thing seemed pretty adequately built and easy to use. The first weekend after receiving the item, I used it and it worked as well as expected. Find the right size, align the tool, ensure the locking mechanisms are in place and twist from both ends. During the first use, I got 2 tires off and back on with no issue.
A month later (second use) I found myself removing a nail from a tire and decided to once again use the lug wrench. The first 2 lug nuts came off with little effort. When removing the third lug nut, I suddenly felt the unit freely spinning. As I pulled back the wrench, part of it remained attached to the wheel. I was left with what you see in the picture.
At first I was confused, until I noticed the twist-like break with the wrench. And to be clear, this is a twist break. Though the locking mechanism was in place, the metal was twisted to a point where it rotated then separated. At first I thought I was putting too much muscle into twisting the wrench, but when I used the vehicle's lug nut wrench, I barely put any muscle into it to remove the lug nut. Call me disappointed. Money down the drain.
AmazonBasics makes some good budget-minded products, but this doesn't appear to be one.
