I just recently purchased this book after having followed Monica Burns on classtechtips.com for over a year. This book is well-organized and provides teachers with easy- to- understand teaching tips and instructions for a variety of student projects at different grade levels, beginning with teacher and student introduction videos and working up to creating school tours and promotional marketing videos and finally creating and using digital student portfolios! I can't wait to explore this book further and to incorporate some of these projects into my future lesson plans! I love the Adobe Spark platform, and since it's currently free for educators and students to access, this book offers relevant, creative, and engaging lesson plan ideas! :)
This is a great little book that has some great resources for any classroom!! The Adobe Spark Suite is great for young learners and older students. The ideas shared in the book are great bell ringers and packed with great suggestions from teachers who have implemented small and big projects in the classroom. Highly recommend
This a must have book for teachers that use technology in the classroom. This book has given me new ideas to make students thinking visible and provide me with many creative ideas on how to make Adobe Spark a staple in your instruction. The creative and easy to follow lessons that Monica and Ben introduce allow students to present their learning in creative and meaningful ways. I have already successfully implemented several lessons in my classroom.
Monica Burns has written a gospel for those looking to infuse their curriculum with Adobe Spark tools! So many creative ideas that can be adapted (key word for Educators), for any and all lessons. Use these easy tools to spark up your students creativity and learning. Worth the cost and you won’t put it down!!!!!
I have used books by Monica Burns in my classes before and what I always like is that it has use it right away tips for whatever she is talking about. This book, is focused on the free Adobe tools called Spark like Post, Video, and Page. Generally Monica is less tool specific but I love that she made a book on Spark because Spark is both tablet and Chromebook/Computer friendly and I am finding myself teaching it more and more to preservice teachers because it prepares them to work on any technological environment.
So if you are teacher looking for a book for some use right away ideas, this would be a good use of your time. Since they work on all devices, if you are slave to cart availability - this tool would let you do your lessons right away no matter what devices are available that day.
I know a lot of teachers are looking for someone to work on over break to learn something new, I would recommend this book because it will have ideas you can use right away. Each lesson has an estimated time to do, and have broad standards connections (but not specific). .It also offers extensions and tie ins to help you integrate. It is accessible and not overwhelming so its a good place to start and a good gift for a teacher.
In this book, they have created an incredible compilation of the creative power of Adobe Spark tools, that will allow readers to start integrating technology in a powerful way, right away! Each lesson gives teachers the capacity to offer their students (and themselves!) a chance to creatively express their knowledge and ideas. The projects infuse technology in a way that promotes student voice and choice and allows their learning to be presented in creative and meaningful ways. The emphasis on reflection, collaboration, and strong visual communication skills makes this book a true gem in an EdTech space that is many times focused on digitizing worksheets or simple updates to analog practice.
