5.0 out of 5 starsWorked well for strained lower back

ok 1st let me state I'm not a doctor, I don't practice medicine, and this isn't medical advice.....merely my experience as I had a problem and what I tried and found worked for me. If you choose to do as I did i don't know if it will work for you or not, and I accept no responsibility for your actions or their results. Essentially I'm just telling a story, that is it...period.
A week ago I injured my back, self diagnosed as a strain type injury (Yeah you read that right no dr involved). I wasn't too bad right after lifting the large weight, and I completed the job I intended to. That night a dull ache that wouldn't stop got worse. I personally don't like to take anything for pain as I am of the opinion that pain is your bodies way of keeping you from doing further harm while it repairs itself....(again just my opinion as a laymen). I tried tylenol, nope not enough, then added ibuprofen, nope still not enough, added aleve (Naproxin sodium) all that and I still hurt. I finally found a position I could sleep in, not comfortable but it minimized the pain. A friend (who is also not a dr) suggested a large lidocaine patch over the area.... in my not very medically informed mind, I could not see how numbing the skin would help, but I didn't have much to lose at this point. 3 hrs later still taking everything else listed plus the patch i finally got some relief. Will this work for you...I don't know (I'm not suggesting it either).
Meanwhile with my basic understanding of the way to stop the pain was to let the muscles relax, I ordered this back support and waited, pretty much moving from the floor to the sofa and back looking for some way to rest the muscles.
Today this arrived, I put it on, almost instantly it felt better. I tried walking, much easier and less painful. I wore it for a few hours very snug, then loosened it a bit.
Pretty sure I will be able to make it through a 10hr day of work tomorrow as long as I'm careful.
Like I said just my story.
This item appears to my untrained self to provide support to take the load off of my lower back muscles, this let them relax, relaxing made the pain lessen, and I found that it provided me with enough comfort to be very thankful for its existence.
Now for my advice free of charge.
1 don't lift things too heavy for you.
2 do lift things using good technique.
3 if in doubt as a friend or two to help or hire a professional.
4 seeking real medical advice from a genuine dr is better than reading anything into the story I shared with you.
