Unexpected twist with a satisfying ending
Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2021
Wasn't sure when I started reading that I would enjoy the book as the start felt a little jerky and the female lead (Remi) read as a weak, immature klutsy female but as the story progresses you realise that it's part of her appeal and she does have a strength about her although she is somewhat naive (because of her background and how she grew up). The male lead Gabriel is a likeable character who is smart but someone I felt was too trusting as a CEO especially with how he grew up. In reality I would expect him to be more guarded, scheming and analytical but he seems too easy-going and trusting. But the twist at the end was unexpected and things do work for Gabriel and Remi but I felt it ended a little too smoothly (guess I was expecting a more big-bang!) That said, overall it was an enjoyable and easy read with enough background and angst/intrigue to keep me interested. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
