CHARMED Masters and Mercenaries Novella
She spots him in a bar, sitting there all handsome and alone. The bartender goads her into buying him a beer and meeting him. He loves the anonymity, he's just "JT," not the well-known heir to the Malone billions. Corporate espionage, so McKay-Taggart had been hired. He knows she is the MT operative from London. His twin wants to appear at the meeting in the morning and pretend to be him. The twin has never taken an interest in either the ranch or the oil business, so that plan is shelved. JT may know who she is but won't allow that to get in his way. Their interior dialog as each rationalizes his or her behavior is lotsa fun. Twin bro Michael smells a rat and JT's Personal Assistant thinks Nina's a gold digger. This is an entertaining feminist piece. There is an attempted murder. He over reacts so poor JT gets both barrels from MacKay AND Taggart as they lay it out about strong women. Big lesson.
