~~Well Written and Thought Provocative~~
Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2020
This book is extremely well written and thought provocative. There are 270 notes that accompany the text so the reader is able to do 'fact checking' if they feel the need to do that. For me, this is an added bonus as some books just state a supposed fact and no evidence to back it up.
Right off the bat, I will admit that I did not follow politics until the last election. In my twenty + years of military service in the US Navy, I never heard politics discussed. We raised our hand to support the Constitution and the orders of those appointed over us including the President of the US. The Oath of enlistment was taken seriously and with much respect. Here I am now in my 70's and the hate in our country is growing worse by the day. I am sad for our country and am unable to see this ending well. The divide is growing deeper day by day and hate is spewing like a volcano about to erupt.
This book contains information that I had never read previously and to me that is a real bonus. Several items that caught my attention: The Al Sharpton incident in 1991 with Gavin Cato in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY, and the rioting that occurred. Three days of anti-Jewish rioting and the injuries to police and civilians were incredible.
And, second, the information presented about George Soros and the Democracy Alliance. I have heard his name previously but never heard about this alliance. Apparently this was formed five days after President Trump's election and the membership includes 110 millionaires who have pledged money to left-wing causes.
The media, once again, is showing their true colors in their dislike of the President. I also didn't realize there was a leaked transcript from the NY Times that created a change in their methods of operation.. Even more of an eye-opener for me was the 1619 Project . And, once again, I display my ignorance as I had not heard of this before. I am not a student of politics and only try to learn more when reading a book...
The impeachment was covered in detail and to me it illustrated (once again) our dangerous those on the left have been and continue to be. Lots of information on this ...some new and some old.
Near the conclusion is a list of the top ten lies that the Democrats have told... Indeed, quite the list.... To be perfectly honest, this list made me sad to read...
One quote that seems to resonate for me throughout this book: "The leftists are unable to see through the fog of their hatred'. I have friends on both sides of the political spectrum and their hatred runs deep. It started before President Trump was elected and the rancor is getting worse...much worse.
Read this one for a well written and well researched book. Lots of new information for me in it and thought provocative.
Most highly recommended.
