Intelligent, complex mystery taking place in and around Grand Central, NYC
Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2019
Fairsteins books are amazingly complex, and, if you are familiar with New York City, they are revealing about places you never knew about - or, thought you did, but really didn’t. They are intelligent thrillers that take concentration to read. She gives a lot of New York history, and there is always the inevitable “Jeopardy” question. So far, I haven’t known the answer to one! Her books contrast with other mystery writers’, whose works allow readers to just sort of glide along. My husband and I both love her books, and, since she is such a prolific writer - with each book focused around a different NYC landmark - I still have a stack of them to read.
