Carbon copy Stoker
Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2020
Overall I liked this story. However, aside from a few personality quirks the main characters and plot are carbon copies of her other books. She even uses the same overused catchphrases to describe her Deltas and their ladies. Its annoying when the heroine gets together with the other women of the team and its always the same, they ogle the men and talk as if they are twenty-two instead of thirty-one.
This story in particular places a lot of emphasis on the gender inequality, particularly in the military. I'm glad Susan acknowledges this but there is no reason to shove it in our faces every other chapter. I realize this issue is how Susan defines her characters (bad guys view women as second class citizens and good guys view them as partners) but its annoying when every other character uses the same cliches and catchphrases to either denigrate women or build up their confidence.
