5.0 out of 5 starsTesla Brand, As Compared With UA and OUTOF
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2018
I've been an 'Under Armour Only' buyer of compression sleeveless shirts for the past 10 years. Decided to branch out and try Tesla and OUTOF, primarily because of lower price and different patterns.

Realize that this review is unique to my workout choices ( outdoor & indoor running, basketball, cardio-core-strength, hot and yin yoga) and the fact that I'm 6'6" and 235. My preferred size for UA and Tesla is 2XL and 3XL for OUTOF.

Workout Comfort: 1.) Tesla, 2.) UA, 3.) OUTOF
The Tesla has superior moisture transfer. I sweat profusely during such workouts, so moving sweat, rather than retaining sweat, is a game changer, as 70% of my workouts involve running or hot yoga.

Fit: 1.) OUTOF, 2.) Tesla, 3.) UA
I now own 5 Tesla compression shirts and only one fits shorter than the other 4. Quality control miss, I'm certain.
The older UA used to fit better in length, (remember, I'm taller than average) than the newer UA shirts. The fact that recent purchases of UA have run shorter in length was the reason I decided to try the other brands.

Tesla runs 1 size smaller in girth than UA and OUT OF. The length is fine. I'm OK with and actually prefer the slimmer girth, however, some buyers, particularly those unaccostomed to a compression shirt, may not. The OUTOF actually runs long and fits better than UA or Tesla.

Overall product satisfaction: 1.) Tesla, 2.) UA, 3. OUTOF
Again, Tesla is the best of the 3 brands for me. UA used to be the standard by which all were compared, but now appears to be harvesting on its brand.

What I didn't like about OUTOF was the thicker, more substantial heft of the fabric. I will use the OUTOF shirt in a very narrow application, i.e., running outdoors when the temperature is 45-60 degrees. Since such conditions are few and far between for my workouts, this will be my last purchase of an OUTOF sleeveless compression shirt. However, I may consider OUTOF for long sleeve shirt purchases.

1.0 out of 5 starsWHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR QUALITY?!
Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2021
FABRIC THIN AND CHEAP!!! Stay away. I have ordered these shirts many times in the past before they changed the name from Tesla to TSLA.. The new material being used is a COMPLETE DISAPOINTMENT!!! TESLA quality used to be better than UNDER ARMOR! The Fabric used to be thicker and have much more compression to it! The new material is so thin it would take 3 shirts stacked to compare to the fabric they used to use... There are enough cheap, thin, low quality compression shirts on the market its really to bad that TSLA had to join the junk. these new shirts are going straight into the garbage I cant even wear them.
BRING BACK THE QUALITY YOU USED TO HAVE!!! Until then I will be searching elsewhere!

4.0 out of 5 stars These are bit tight on me - I should have ordered XXL
Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2021
Verified Purchase
The quality of these shirts and the material is good and the shirts last a LONG time - I still older versions of these shirts when they called "Tesla" - I can see why that name got dropped - likely copyright/trademark infringement from the "real" Tesla company.

What is lacking on the Amazon page is proper data on sizing. I looked for size data in the reviews and there wasn't much other than "fits OK" with no physical size data. I'll focus on that point here to hopefully assist other customers. The Amazon page says these shirts are "true to size". I wear and XL in most every other shirt and even "L" in some golf shirts I own but an XL in these shirts is tight.

I'm a life long weight lifter, former football and ice hockey player and generally a big, muscular guy. I'm 6'1" and 225 pounds and am considered by my gym buddies and family as being in "good shape" with a 38 inch waist, 17 inch upper arms, 46 inch chest and 18.5 inch neck.

I have other TSLA compression shirts and XL's are usually a bit snug but comfortable. These shirts are really snug - I'll order a XXL next time and see if they fit. The length is good but the shirts are tight in the chest.

I'll dock TSLA 1 point for failure to have proper sizing data on these shirts on Amazon. It would be really helpful for them to have a drop down chart that converts sizes like XL to numbers like "42-44 inch chest" which would be about right for these particular shirts. Hope that helps!

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid alternative to UA
Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2020

Oh how I have longed for reasonably priced alternative to UA compression tops. Of the types I have tried, Under Armour compression tops just work for me; they tend to use thicker material than others I have tested, so their tops tent to provide noticeably more compression. The TSLA top arrived today and I had it long enough to decide if it fit, so this is very much a first impression review. I was NOT expecting this to provide the same level of compression as UA, but I was hoping it would be "close enough" - and I think this is. The material does seem a little thinner, but my immediate impression was that the compression felt good. Since this is sleeveless, the arm cutouts matter in terms of overall comfort, particularly if you wear these as undershirts (which I do from time to time). Here again, the TSLA top seemed to have ample room in the arm cutout, and the seems did not produce irritation. Granted, I spent about 60 seconds in this shirt, but I did not immediately regret that purchase (which seems to happen more often than I care to admit).

For about the half the price of a UA shirt, this strikes me as very solid alternative.

4.0 out of 5 stars Few flaws but a must have in compression gear.

If these shirts were consistant it would be 5 stars all day. First off the price is great....soo worth the price. Compared to under armour heat gear these are the same if not better. I wear an XL. Ive order 4 diff colors and half of them fit amazing. Now here is the problem.. the sizing is so inconsistant. Order 2 black XL. One fits perfect.....the other is 2 inches shorter at least. Order some grey ones....same issue. I have some the tend to role up and I have some that sit perfect all day. So all in all for the price and quality. Def worth the price and risk.

4.0 out of 5 stars I will buy more, but could fit better.
Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2017

Fits pretty good, my only complaints are it's super long. I'm 5'9" 200lbs average/athletic build ordered a US Large. It goes almost 12in past my waist. The other complaint is the arm holes are just a little too small. Cuts in to the top of my chest. I do have larger shoulders which could be causing that. If I stretch that part before wearing it, it's fine. I would still buy more, and I definitely plan too. May be a deal breaker for others though.

I've become a fan of this brand. Have quite a few compression shirts and shorts. I wear daily. Just got these sleevless shirts and there good workout shirts. I would rate them even higher but quality is not as good as Under Armor. But when you consider the price difference it makes these worth it.

Honestly, I love Tsla brand. They are good quality, and at a affordable price. This shirt is comfortable, but a little tighter than expected. Should have ordered a size up.

I ordered an XL like I do with other TSLA shirts so they fit a bit loose; however, for this style the XL is pretty tight on me.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice shirt, likes to roll up though

Good quality, nice design but shirt is VERY long and likes to roll up. My fiance loves it (former military so camo is his thing) but he forever has to pull it down because it rolls up. Would recommend, but probably better for someone with a long torso
