5.0 out of 5 starsTesla Brand, As Compared With UA and OUTOF
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2018
I've been an 'Under Armour Only' buyer of compression sleeveless shirts for the past 10 years. Decided to branch out and try Tesla and OUTOF, primarily because of lower price and different patterns.
Realize that this review is unique to my workout choices ( outdoor & indoor running, basketball, cardio-core-strength, hot and yin yoga) and the fact that I'm 6'6" and 235. My preferred size for UA and Tesla is 2XL and 3XL for OUTOF.
Workout Comfort: 1.) Tesla, 2.) UA, 3.) OUTOF
The Tesla has superior moisture transfer. I sweat profusely during such workouts, so moving sweat, rather than retaining sweat, is a game changer, as 70% of my workouts involve running or hot yoga.
Fit: 1.) OUTOF, 2.) Tesla, 3.) UA
I now own 5 Tesla compression shirts and only one fits shorter than the other 4. Quality control miss, I'm certain.
The older UA used to fit better in length, (remember, I'm taller than average) than the newer UA shirts. The fact that recent purchases of UA have run shorter in length was the reason I decided to try the other brands.
Tesla runs 1 size smaller in girth than UA and OUT OF. The length is fine. I'm OK with and actually prefer the slimmer girth, however, some buyers, particularly those unaccostomed to a compression shirt, may not. The OUTOF actually runs long and fits better than UA or Tesla.
Overall product satisfaction: 1.) Tesla, 2.) UA, 3. OUTOF
Again, Tesla is the best of the 3 brands for me. UA used to be the standard by which all were compared, but now appears to be harvesting on its brand.
What I didn't like about OUTOF was the thicker, more substantial heft of the fabric. I will use the OUTOF shirt in a very narrow application, i.e., running outdoors when the temperature is 45-60 degrees. Since such conditions are few and far between for my workouts, this will be my last purchase of an OUTOF sleeveless compression shirt. However, I may consider OUTOF for long sleeve shirt purchases.
