Baxter and Hazel ❤

The cutesy cover of You Lucky Dog drew me in, then when I read what it was about I put it on my TBR immediately. I really enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. I figured it would be a light, and fluffy maybe a little unrealistic like a Hallmark movie. It was light and fluffy but tackled some pretty tough issues. Max has a Autistic brother who plays a pretty big part of his life in this book, and a widowed father. Carly very much has issues with her family. When family is a big part of the book I love walking away loving the family, but I did not get that in this book. The only family member I liked from both characters was Max's brother Jamie and the dogs. Cause let's be honest dogs become our family. The rest of them were selfish, and rude. I love the premise of this book with the mixed up dogs, very cute meet cute situation. I just loved Baxter and Hazel so much. I really liked Max and Carly was okay. Their relationship was a little instalovey for me. Since I thought this was Hallmarky I was expecting very fade to black/close door, but it had a little steam to it. I feel like those scenes were done well, nothing graphic, but also not closed door. The conflict at the end of the story was a little far fetched, I saw it coming a mile away. Overall I enjoyed this book will be reading the second book in this series.
