Absolutely awful book for teaching young children about anger, anxiety and “grumpiness”. This book basically just says to them, “hey, don’t be mad or grumpy or anxious, just look at the bright side of things. Oh and, someone always has it worse than you.” Only serves to further stigmas in mental health.

the kids would love the book and then you as parent and grand parent you have fun reading with the kid
Focusing on the negative things will only create negative feelings. In this book grumpy discovers that he is blessed with many things that most people don't have. Looking at all the positives in your life instead of focusing on only the negatives.
A great reminder for kids young and old, that they can improve their mood and be happier, by choosing think about things they are thankful for. This is a great book for children of all ages, especially younger children who can easily understand the story and adorable illustrations.
Another great book that explains to my children how to turn a bad/negative feeling into a good one by appreciating small things & to be grateful for what you have. Kids nowadays need a reminder to be happy & thankful. Looking forward to reading the next ninja book!
After running into everyday inconveniences, the ninja friends introduce Grumpy Ninja to focusing on positive things to help his attitude change and help him be thankful for all the good things, rather than complain about the few bad things. Great lesson!
This book was ok, my 4 year old likes it overall. It is not a story. It’s written similar to a diary. The beginning states his current behavior, the middle states his old behavior and why it was negative, the end states why he is happier with the new behavior.
I love all of these books. The colors are bright and vivid. The words are clear and easy to read. The messages are simple and meaningful. My little 2 1/2 girl has most of them memorized and can look at the back and list off all of the ninjas. Can’t wait to keep getting more.
