How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 starsAs good as the rest, maybe
Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2021
This is a Lone Wolf story and in some respects it is sort of like a Tyrus Rechs story, but lacks the violence and Soren Voss reads less like a hero and more like a hapless whiner. Something about him just annoyed me to no end. Whereas all the books in this universe are centered on visceral violence and duty to the Legion or their friends, this deals with the black Ops side of things and wasn't as enjoyable.
It is still a good story, but to me in making Soren more human and relatable, we lost some of the superhero elements that make a great character in these books. Soren feels like a hapless lover with no charisma and is a by the book guy, yet he works for Nether Ops which we all know has no book and no moral code.
It just seemed an odd pairing. I expected more out of this book because it was Nether Ops and instead I got less.

Please, PLEASE do a better job of editing. I don’t know if it was an upload issue to Kindle or a hurry to get this story published, but the spelling and grammatical errors were abhorrent. The story was good and I absolutely love the series, but the lack of editing was painful to read through. I’m looking forward to reading more from the Galaxy’s Edge universe, but hopefully the future stories don’t have as many mistakes.

So, how do apparently noble, good guys end up as something else?
They cross a line.
This Mil-SciFi book takes you on the journey. The problem and best thing is you never really know until the very end when that last straw was placed on the camels back.
Soren is our main character, and he struggles with each and every mission, with orders, with alliances and always with himself as to what is good, right and true, and what is not.
The action is well paced. The writing is as tight as ever. the Galaxy;s Edge guys keep getting better and better.
This is what Star Wars should have been. This is what great pulp Mil Sci Fi looks like.
If you want to get spun up around the axle on hard science dont read. But if you want intergalactic swashbuckling adventure then this book, and these other related titles are for you. The fact that this one gets a little philosophical only adds to the allure of the series overall!! Now gimme season 2 already!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Story

I really enjoyed the story and how it ties in to the main storyline of the GE books. I would have given it 5 stars but there were a ton, and I mean a ton, of typos in the print edition I got and it really distracted me from the story. Some words were misspelled and other words were repeated twice and it really took me out of the story sadly. Story-wise it is a great book. I just wish the editing and spell/grammar check had been done better.
Overall I do recommend reading it as it is a fine edition to the GE universe and makes you love the House of Reason so much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved the perspective

A great perspective from Nether Ops and the irony of why the savages, and other forces, thought that humans could never govern themselves...full circle why the elite savages left. They were right, the corruption just carried from Earth to the Galaxy. Good thing someone has THE solution, or like any tyrant, always thinks they do.

These novels in the order of the centurion provide greater dimension on how the main storyline of the corrupt republic evolves....and the dangers of trusting revolutionary charismatics to lead the way.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fragile binding .

Very good story and plot . My only complaint is the extremely bad book binding , the pages fall out with just the slightest pressure on them so you have to take great care not to pop them loose .

Enjoyed it! Love the tie-ins to the primary storylines.
Not sure if this would get a new reader/listener hooked on the series but it's a good fix for those who liked the core story and wanted more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story, needs better proofreading

I enjoyed the story, plot and characters. There were a lot of errors in the text, to the point where it made some sections confusing and overall was distracting. Better QC and this is just as good as the other books in this universe.

One more to go, but I like this one the best of the four in this series. Interesting to see the weave with the main story arc, but also I enjoyed the characters and plot flow.
