5.0 out of 5 starsMagnificent!
Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2021
This entire series was magnificent and enthralling! From the minute I began reading, my attention was riveted to the main character and her story. The first book begins with December, an orphaned teen barely subsisting in a home with her absolutely horrible and sleazy foster parents. When she gets the sudden offer of a scholarship to a prestigious academy, she finds herself in completely different surroundings. There is danger surrounding her, as she learns that the school has secrets and many of the students are hostile to her. I loved December's determination and strong will, and Easton's strength and goodness of heart. I also loved December's BFF, Shaela, and her other friend, Charles. Those main characters, plus some later surprise additions, all worked together and eventually became December's self-made "family". In this world, humans have devastated the environment and have become subjugated to an evil Fae Queen in order to survive. There is a different group of Fae who oppose this, and have created an academy to train for war against the evil Queen and her subjects. The world building is excellent, the characters are well fleshed out, and there are numerous plot twists and turns that keep you guessing throughout the entire series. The fantastic thing is that all of the books are now in one complete set, so you can just keep reading from start to finish (which is what I did). I highly recommend this entire series, and can guarantee that you'll find yourself cheering for December and her friends to overcome all of the seemingly endless obstacles in their way.

2.0 out of 5 starsJust no, I can't
Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2021
I have tried to continue reading this series because of all the 5 star reviews. But I can't go any further. First off; the idea of the storyline was okay but the lead female character was just nerve racking. I get the fact that she was bullied and I get the fact that she was orphaned and had very little to eat, in a home with a sleezeball making sexual advances toward her. I get all of that. I don't understand why the author repeatedly makes her character this whimped, silly character even after she knows the truth about who and what she is. Maybe some readers thought it was entertaining, to me it's unnecessary nonsense repeatedly over and over. This will be deleted immediately from my library. Hopefully in the future I can find a book written by this author that I will like. I do enjoy a good fae book, and shifter romance books as well.

Oberon Academy Complete Series by Wendi Wilson: loved December & Easton’s story!

*****The Orphan #1:
December is shocked to discover she is something more than human. And maybe not human at all. Learning about her powers, and how to control them. A new love and a close friend. Now, a war?

*****The Zephyr #2:
Big surprises, and challenges. A powerful mixed blood. True friends and “family” pull together, while other forces seek to destroy. This is a good story with a fast pace, and lots of action.

*****The Sylph #3:
Relationships and friendships - some at risk. Family and friends - tear jerk surprises. Enemies - known and unknown. The lies are huge, and deception abounds. The twists are unexpected, as some truths are revealed.

****The Queen #4: nice finale’
This story drug out a bit, with a little too much internal doubt. But overall good, with more twists, and definitely an enjoyable series. Loved the HEA!!!

Favorite quote: genetic makeup and familial connections do not make us who we are. It’s our motives, our choices, and our actions that define us.

This is a wonderful series. It is well written and has an intriguing plot. Each book concludes without a cliffhanger and the flow between books is smooth and natural. The relationship between December and Easton grows slowly and consistently through the series and never disappoints the readers rooting for them. I am so glad I discovered this series.

I picked up this box set to read before reading Aurora's story at Oberon Reformatory. This box set included the complete backstory of her parents as they met while attending Oberon Academy and their struggle against the evil Zephyr Queen Sebille.

This story was very well written with very few editing errors that the time and pages flew by in a blink. I'm so glad I took the time to read this series as it gives incite to the world of the Fae Aurora is in.

I read the full series in less than 2 days. I couldn’t put the book down. The story sucked me in and wouldn’t let go. No sleep when you’re reading something so enthralling. I started with Oberon Reformatory and was hooked. I can’t wait for more of the series. I love December and Easton and would really love more of them in the following books.

Really liked the series. The first book was definitely my favorite. Although in the last book, there are some chapters that I would eliminate, the whole plot with Easton’s father is a bit too much and feels that it’s only to delay the end. It’s obvious that December is going after Easton, and it makes no sense that she waits so many days to go and rescue him. For that reason I’m giving the series 4 stars. I think the last book should’ve been better, and up to the level of the previous 3 books.
