This book has been very helpful to me. I have been interested in meditation for many years and actually have a fair amount of experience with several forms or styles. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, I have a very busy life working in a medical field that does not tend to make it easy to have a regular meditation practice, provides lots of distraction, and generally makes it difficult to maintain a meditative state of mind. I have started meditation routines and schedules, failed to maintain them, and started over numerous times. Slowly, bit by bit, this method is starting to change that.
The key, in my opinion is the simplicity of it. Once the basics are understood it can be practiced multiple times during the day, while you are doing almost anything. You get lost periodically but can get it back over and over, and, it gets a little easier every day. It is really just a way to be more aware or awake as you go through life. The book has a lot of information in it and there may be a tendency to try to make the process more complicated than it is (certainly something that I am good at), or even want it to be more esoteric or mysterious, but the key is to just keep at it, every day, in a simple, open way.
