Hurricane is the 9th book of the Phantom Queen Diaries, one of the series in the TempleVerse, a world introduced and created from the mind of Shayne Silvers. Cameron O’Connell, along with Silvers, has written a book that will thrill you at every turn. Mind blogging, funny, and clever; Hurricane is a drink you want to enjoy and savor. I could not put it down.
Hurricane picks up where the book, Sea Breeze, leaves off, with O’Connell vividly describing the worse nightmare Quinn has ever been in. Just reading the first chapter, I knew this would be the best book of the series yet. The writing is brilliant and the imagery is well done. O’Connell, with Silvers’ trademark snark sprinkled in, takes the reader in so many places with so many interesting characters.
The first chapter gives a taste of what was to come and a surprise that was unexpected. Finally, Quinn and Nate Temple are paired off for an adventure unlike no other. There are fireworks and fast dialogue between the two that was so much fun. Go Team Quinn.
I’m looking forward to what is next between our three leads in TempleVerse. The TempleVerse world is a place that a reader can dive into and never want to leave. It will grip your heart and soul, as well as energize your mind and emotions. Both Shayne Silvers and Cameron O’Connell have become my favorite authors easily. They have spoiled me for other writers. It makes you wonder if the “formula” writing common today is killing the literary world, as a friend recently pointed out to me. Thankfully, brilliance is kept alive with Silvers and O’Connell.
