Not many books leave me speechless and fulfilled at the same time but Every Last Secret did. It’s conniving. It pisses you off but it’s like train wreck you can’t look away or in this case put your kindle down. When I say it pissed me off I was extremely upset.

I hate Neena. Hate. Her. I don’t think she has one redeemable quality. Zero. She has a great husband who worships her feet and she treats him like he is mud on her shoe. She’s as fake as they come and I was hoping she would die the whole time I was reading.

Now Cat. I love Cat. I tell ya something that woman is a smiling, snarky genius. Her and Matt are the only redeemable characters in this whole book. Cat was the reason I kept reading, well also to see if Neena was going to die. Lol

Every Last Secret is one hell of a ride. It pissed me off, made me laugh, and pissed me off even more. But the emotions it brought out of me were very real and I wouldn’t want it any other way. The ending was perfect and tidied up. There was no guessing or left up to your imagination with this book.

Alessandra covered it in a pretty red ribbon. Everything on the outside was beautiful but once you opened it up, she tore your heart out with her perfect smile. Never to be the same again.

1.0 out of 5 starsThe Housewives of...
Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2020
I had heard some good things about this author, so when this book I showed up at one of my favorite book review sites, I had to snap it up. Unfortunately, I find myself very disappointed. None of the characters is remotely likable or even relatable; they lead such shallow lives. Cat is married to William and living her dream life. Neena dreams and schemes of taking over that life as William’s second wife, even though she is married to a man who loves her. What they do to each other to try to keep or achieve the life they want is along the lines of the worst sort of “housewife” reality TV... and then way beyond. On top of that, the man they're essentially competing over doesn't really seem worth it as he isn't too bright... or even interesting. If you like trashy “housewife” TV shows, this book is the novel equivalent but takes the concept to an extreme level. Personally, I didn't like it.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

This is a terrible book, inconsistently written about people that are so awful that there is no one to cheer for. Except Matt. He has an actual heart and soul, but horrible taste in women.

I am so happy I got it as my free Kindle book. Because if I had paid for this, I would be pretty annoyed.

Decent read, just very predictable. Several errors that could have been easily remedied by a simple proofread. Do editors and proofreaders just not exist anymore?

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful and twisted tale where you really don’t like anyone but can’t put it down...
Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2020
I always love the Amazon First reads offered but was super happy this morning to wake up to see an AR Torre read on offer. ‘Every Last Secret’ was everything I’d come to expect - a phenomenally suspenseful and twisted tale as only Alessandra knows how to write, with two absolutely terrible unreliable narrators really adding to the depth of this read I flew through.

‘Every Last Secret’ at it’s core is a psychological thriller about two women who go head-to-head over a married man. Cat, married to William for 13 years, is living the good life. She is the queen of their affluent neighbourhood, an equal investor in her husband’s multimillion-dollar business, and the woman others strive to be. While Neena wants Cat’s life... literally. Even though she has a husband who adores her, her goal is to become William’s next wife, even if it means destroying Cat...

Cat and Neena battle in an expert game of cat and mouse. I usually like my domestic thrillers to be more murder and less sex and romance, but I really enjoyed the nasty fun of both of these narrators who were beautifully flawed, cold & calculating as AR Torre weaved together a fantastic story of money, murder and betrayal. The author's note at the end really tied it together well.

Whew! What just happened?!

This book is wild! I really enjoyed it ... read it in one day. It’s juicy, dramatic, mean, funny, twisty, infuriating (I just wanted to shake some of the characters at times), suspenseful, emotional. I couldn’t put it down — I had to know what would happen on the next page.

This author writes really well, I’ll be checking out other books by her for sure. This one, despite its outlandish nature, was actually a good character study, too. I also enjoyed the descriptions of the characters’ lifestyles.

Overall, a very enjoyable read.

Omg! If I wasn’t so overworked and old, I would’ve finished this book in one setting. But my brain forced me to get some sleep. So I finished it the very next day when I got off work. I have not been this intrigued by a book in a very long time. I love that even though it was shorter than the novels I typically read, I loved that it was very detailed and easy to follow, not leaving anything to the imagination. I love that I don’t have to ask questions or wonder what happened after I read a book. This is every scorned wife dream come true after being cheated on.

In my top three of Alessandra Torre’s books. The suspense and twist at the end keeps you second guessing until the last page I couldn’t put it down.

I drop everything I’m doing when Alessandra Torre releases a book. I downloaded this book early Sunday morning and was done by early afternoon and now wish I hadn’t flown through it because it’s over and I don’t know when she will release another one. She has become my favorite author since the Ghost Writer and she has never disappointed my in anything I’ve read of hers and this book just made me more of a fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nothing like a woman scorned.

I am just going to be up front with the elephant in the room. I have read some of the critical reviews of this book. I just couldn't help but to sit back and laugh. All the reasons they hated this book are all of the reasons I loved it. And it's weird that I say that, because when you see some of the reasons I loved it, you will think I'm insane.

Right off that bat.... I didn't really like most of the characters. They were vapid, selfish, unreliable, and unrelatable. And guess what. They are a big reason I enjoyed this book! You're probably wondering if I went insane, but I haven't been put in a padded room yet, so stop worrying.

These characters served their exact purpose. The author didn't try to sugar-coat or hide who the characters were like I've seen in other books. They fit into their "world" perfectly. They fit into the storyline perfectly. So many times in other books, characters who are supposed to be one way come off to me as being the exact opposite. Not in this book. I knew what to expect, and I knew it quickly.

To reference a review I read, this book did have a bit of a "Housewives" vibe. And I ate it up. It was spectacular. Normally, I wouldn't be all for the vibe in a book, but it is written so well, I just couldn't help myself. I kept chastising myself for enjoying it as much as I did.

All I am going to say at this point is, don't expect what you normally expect going into this one. This isn't like any of the author's previous books. This one is in a category all of its own. Just keep this saying in mind when you read this book... "H-e-double hockey sticks hath no fury like a woman scorned."
