Mariah Delgado is back in Mexico working with the Central American Investigations agency, but using the name Mariah Lopez. Her use of a new name is the result of a little problem stemming from how she dished out an earlier revenge by ‘fixing’ the men who had raped her.
Her parents, developers of resorts, had gotten into a cash bind and borrowed money from a lender who then arranged to steal the cash back. In the process a family friend was killed and her parents nearly killed. Mariah and the agency take on the case of finding the culprits and making them pay.
As this exciting story unfolds, we read of the effects of infidelity, human trafficking of children, kidnapping with escapes and rescues, and the difficulty in fighting Mexican cartels. While the action is non-stop, Mariah manages to find time for a love interest. She also shows that she can show mercy and sympathy at times, and dish out cold blooded justice at others.
Those familiar with the Kyle MacDonald series of books will recognize Mariah who was introduced in book 3, Death Drones, and reappeared in the following book, The Korean Connection. However, this book is an exciting read as a stand-alone novel if you haven’t yet read any of the earlier series.
I was given a free ARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.

N. Hall’s review is spot on. I couldn’t have said it better. Maria’s character is well defined; she’s adventurous, courageous, intelligent, brave, dangerous, and most importantly, devoted. It’s that devotion to her family and friends that takes her on a journey into the cartel world to revenge the near murder of her parents and the loss of a long-time family friend.
What I like about the author’s style is his attention to detail; his research is thorough and enlightening. You will believe you are right there in the action. From the plane crash to the heroic rescues, to the heinous plot to deceive, and finally to the sad reality of human trafficking and the children that suffer. You will experience a wide range of emotions, and in the end, you will discover that we all must play a part in rescuing those who have been taken. Like Maria, we must fight for justice to protect the ones we love. I received an advance reader copy of the book, and this is my honest review.

Delgado Royale Resort, Mazatlán, MX. José Delgado & Molita Delgado just finished their meeting with the highly prospective investors over their remarkably 7 successful Delgado Resorts: Playa del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta x 2, Mazatlán, Sinaloa, & Cabo San Lucas. The negatives in an economic business sense had been in 2003, the Severe Acute Respiratory System (SARS) epidemic, & in 2005, Hurricane Emily & Hurricane Wilma damage. José’s armored truck took the money to the airport where it was loaded onto his Beechcraft 350 King Air. From there an armored truck would meet them at the Punta Cana airport in the Dominican Republic.
Julio Sanchez (co-pilot) pulled out a gun and aimed it at Pablo. Seoul, South Korea. CIA Agent Maria Hernández Delgado (daughter, lesbian, aka Maria Ramírez López, Investigaciones Centroamericanas, U Ciudad Juarez) learned her parents survived a crash of their private plane the pilot was killed, & a substitute co-pilot hijacked the plane, & parachuted out, taking with $4m in cash that her parents just borrowed. Maria & her agency team locate the co-pilot hiding in Panama & find out the Sinaloa Cartel is behind the whole fiasco.
Pedro, Martin, Rafael, CIA Agent Miguel Diaz, CIA Agent Alejandro Carillo, CIA Agent Alberto Corporalas, & CIA Agent immy Llamas are helping CIA Agent Maria Hernández with her investigation. José Delgado & Molita Delgado listened as the person demanded 10-million US dollars in Bitcoins in 3 days for the return of Sara Cabrera’s (handmaid servant) daughter Paolo Cabrera (8) or else. Molita Delgado had been killed. Alex called CIA Agent Hernández & told her Pedro Menendez (Sinaloa Cartel) owned the hit/run car. Lieutenant Cesar Molina (Mexico City PD human trafficking) was shot/killed.
Will Pedro, Martin, Rafael, CIA Agent Miguel Diaz, CIA Agent Alejandro Carillo, CIA Agent Alberto Corporalas, & CIA Agent Jimmy Llamas, & CIA Agent Maria Hernández take down the Sinaloa Cartel & get Carmen back safe/alive?

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written crime thriller book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters & facts to keep track of. To be continued? This could also make another great crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini-TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an amazingly easy rating of 5 stars.

In this book, action never stops. There are characters you will love and characters you will hate. Maria's life is complicated. Her emotions are pulled as taut as a guitar sting. Violence and revenge are her everyday companions. Some how she comes up on top. This is nonstop adventure at its finest. The explanation on how drugs and human trafficking got started is an eye-opener. Well researched, well written, the story line will keep you hooked and wanting more. Fortunately for all, another book is in the waiting. And if there isn't, there should be. I am an ARC reader and this is my honest review.
They targeted the wrong people and our heroine is going to ensure they get that message loud and clear.
This is book one of the series, so a good place to start.
This is an action thriller with a side order of romance. The story is well written, easy to read and highly engaging. Once I got started, it was very hard to put the book down to deal with the rest of life. The characters are well developed and fit right into their assigned roles. I really liked our heroine who is both tough and smart, just the way I like my leads. Overall, this was a fast paced story that was very enjoyable and hard to put down. I look forward to seeing more from this author.
I received an ARC from Hidden Gems for review purposes.

Adventure, revenge, captured escape, repeat. Excellent adventure novel with compelling characters. Everything interconnects for Maria and her team of investigators. A cartel tries to kill her parents, plane crash, bad loan, child kidnapping and murder. Maria is an outstanding hero surrounded by compelling teammates that stand for justice and she delivers her own style of justice. This is a extraordinary well woven storyline that left me wanting a sequel.

It was entertaining enough, solid 3 stars plus a bonus star for some wild plot twists. Contains a lot of contextual information that read a bit like a footnote and did nothing to further the story, but also didn’t really detract from it. I prefer a bit more escapism in my novels where I can really immerse in the story and I wasn’t really able to delve into the world of these characters. Just looking for something to read, I recommend. If you want more depth, character development and/or more believable investigative characters you’ll want to skip this one. **I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book **

Maria's character is strong ,fearless ,confident and at times ruthless . In Maria's Revenge she takes on the Mexican Cartel. The Cartel stole 4 million dollars from her parents and planned that they should die in a plane crash . The parents survive but Maria's mother is left in critical condition. Maria's Revenge is an action packed account of Maria's determination to get her parents money back and make those responsible for the plane crash and her mother's death pay . Enjoyed all the twists and turns , and subplots ,human trafficking, love interest . I am not a writer but I am an avid reader . I hope to read more about the fascinating Maria .
