I read this to my class on Monday. There have been a few instances lately where students are not being kind to one another due to differences. I have a group of students that struggle with understanding their emotions, which makes it hard for them to understand others. This was a beautiful way to show kids that we are all different, but we all feel the same things. This was a nice way to teach students there is a place for everyone in this world and we can be kind no matter what. Great reminder that we may not always see differences, but we need to be aware that they exist and always treat others the way we want to be treated. Diane, keep writing these books and I will keep sharing them. They are wonderful for all kids not just the little ones.
Incredible illustrations and a lesson the whole world needs to learn! Diversity is what makes our world so amazing! I agree, if we all looked or thought the same way or only had red crayons- the world would be missing out on all of our talents and what makes us so amazing! This book would be great at bedtime, storytime, in a classroom and anytime! Reading it again tonight with my kiddos....
Simple, short, sweet, beautiful illustrations and a huge message. This is a great book to teach about diversity and how no matter where we are from or how we look or move around in the world, we are all important and have something to contribute. 💙
Great , simple book about diversity! The pictures are colorful without being not too busy. There is a fill-in-the-blank self-reflection page at the back of the book! It will be fun to screenshot and have kids fill it in. I have the Kindle edition!
