Wasn't what I expected, but Mr. Dale did an exceptionally outstanding job of his descriptive story of slaves, and how they continued to survive. The story is definitely specific in the wrongful treatment of the Negroes in their care. I am a true Southerner and have embraced many Blacks as my friends, and never understood how the former slave owners could be so cruel!

The truthfulness of this compassionate storytelling masterpiece is definitely five stars worthy as the truthfulness of the Author's descriptive storylines definitely portrayed the facts of our old realistic southern misgivings. Curley definitely portrayed the factual information about some of the slave owners, but there were some that treated their people a little more fairly.
Really a very touching story of how our Country became the Nation we are today, and how the South was finally tamed. Definitely recommend this compassionately motivated story to all readers as the Author's successful selection of storylines throughout the entire book will touch your inner most feelings, and his outstanding selection of characters definitely portrayed their assigned roles to perfection. I was unable to put the book aside, especially after Curley started his flight to freedom. The story isn't exactly for the light hearted, bugbear with the Author, and you will be appeased in the end!!!😄
