Will their insecurities doom their burgeoning romance ...
After the first book in this series being my first read by Mrs Julie Johnstone, this second one is too my introduction Mrs Cecelia Mecca’s work. I loved it was very different from Sinful Scot, with the heroes being rather opposite to the previous couple.
Greyson is not a self assured alpha like his brother, he has his own doubts and flaws. He is lost in this medieval period, having to start from scratch to learn how navigate this dark and treasonous time. Still he is a kind and caring man, and while he struggles to adapt, feeling guilty when he had to kill someone, lost in the web of political schemes, he soon is sure of one thing, he can’t let Marian face her impending future without a fight.
Marian is no Wonder Woman, she was the obedient daughter all her life, when she would have loved to experience more, she was a sheltered lady and until this day, she nearly never left her keep. And now she is able, it is to go towards a doomed fate. Yet, she faces the many dents set on her journey her head held high. It is good to see her grow and decide for herself for once.
I love this couple, they are sweet and charming, caring for the others and not selfish as they sought others approval before their own needs. A 5 stars read of resilience.
I was granted an advance copy by the author, prior to it I preordered my own. Here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Part of a collaboration between authors Cecelia Mecca & Julie Johnstone, this is the second book in the series of four brothers who search for their lost mother when their father falls into a coma. That search leads them across time to medieval Scotland on the cusp of civil war. Our hero Greyson travels back to search for his older brother Rhys the first of them able to say the fae spell and travel back. Luckily for Grey he lands at the feet of his uncle, his mothers brother who aids him. Along the way back to their ancestral home they come across Marion, our heroine, who is on her way to be married. There is drama, intrigue and battles along the way. We see an instant chemistry between the two, as much as they fight it love ultimately wins out. Time travel is not my usual genre but I am a huge fan of medieval Scottish stories and Julie Johnstone. This series has not only introduced me to a new platform but also the fabulous Cecelia Mecca. This series is the perfect opportunity to explore new genres and authors you have perhaps not read before. There is strong, believable characters who you will love and root for, set amongst the beautiful scenery of Scotland. I cannot recommend this series enough, well written and although by two different authors the series seamlessly fits together.
Number two of the series and this one is by Cecelia Mecca. These two ladies have done such an amazing job as writing as one; they are seamless. Greyson is panicked when his brother, Rhys, disappears before his eyes when they say the chant to try to go through time to find their missing Mother. This is the ongoing storyline of time traveling brothers trying to locate their missing Mom who is in Medieval Scotland, in order to try to save their dying Father in the here and now. This second in the series is about Greyson, #2 son, who is also the president of their shipping company. Now he falls through time and his brothers are left behind to try to hold down the fort of the company, or we presume that they are left behind (?). Fortunately for Greyson he lands at the very feet of his uncle who he never knew he had. His journey is not as nasty as his brother's was but equally fraught with the same danger. They are very much in the center of a conspiracy that they did not know existed until they were dropped into it through time. They realize their Mother is also involved because of her situation before she was catapulted forward in time. Now not only does Greyson need to find his Mom and brother but he gets involved with "Maid Marian" unexpectedly when he, his uncle and their men come upon her being attacked. She is on her way to be married to a man she hasn't even met and has a horrible reputation to boot. Women, at that time, were nothing but pawns in the man's game of chess for power and land. She was the offering for same for her father's advantage. Never having choices in her life prior to this, she gets that opportunity with Grey and his family when her entire party is decimated and she is the only one left standing. Grey and company take over protecting her after they kill all the bad guys to protect her. In the process she and Grey bond and that makes up the story in this chapter of the saga. This is such a great series and I highly recommend it but start at the beginning in book one. 5 Stars Ladies! I have already pre-ordered #3.
I really have been enjoying this series. I think Greyson and Marian are my favorite couple yet. This story is finally starting to put some of the mystery pieces together I can’t believe I have to wait a month for book 3. I really have enjoyed the plot and characters. I wish I knew more about Grace but I am sure that is to come.
Four brothers with a missing Mother and a Father in a coma. Greyson, the second brother, is trying to find his older brother Rhys, who has disappeared after holding a relic and repeating a chant. So holding the same relic and repeating the same chant finds out what really happened to his Mother, his brother and now him! In mid evil Scotland. This second book is as good as the first and I cannot wait for the third book.
Grey is the second son to travel through time and lands at the death of his uncle who immediately tries to kick him back into the twentieth century. Grey doesn't make a good first impression on his uncle or Lady Marian either. Seems the family is embroiled in the fight for the Scottish throne. However, Grey also steals Marian s heart and her, his.
I read this book in one day. I loved it. Book 2 is better than the first and I loved that one too. Greyson and Marian took me on a medieval roller coaster and I didn’t want to get off until I finished their story. I can’t wait for the next one. It’s a great take on the history of Robert the Bruce and the fight for the Scottish crown. It made me want to travel back in time just to be a part of the action with them.
First we had Sinful Scot with Rhy the oldest brother and now Sexy Scot with Greyson. He does seem to meet his Title. Going back in time to find his Mother Shona and his Brother Rhy he has his own Love Adventure. They make Time Travel something that you might want to experience yourself. I know I definitely would. Can’t wait for the next one.
This Story was as exciting and eventful as the first book., I can hardly wait for the next one. These stories are so enjoyable and interesting , you don't know what's going to happen next. Great plots.
