I have read a few of the books in the Ninja series and particularly enjoyed this one.
Dishonest Ninja finds it easier to lie for several reasons but always feels badly afterward. It causes anxiety, worry, fear, and distress. An incident at school and its aftermath cause him to realize telling the truth makes him feel free.
I recommend this book for elementary and middle-grade readers. Teachers, parents, and social workers can use this book as a resource to explain why telling even a "little white lie" can have devastating results.
