This storage file offers a great way to keep your “in process” hanging folders out on your desk, without adding clutter or reducing work space. The black screen design allows the files to be seen and contained. The metal is durable. In case of drops the metal should be OK, even if not, you can press the metal back into shape. If something falls out of a file, you can see it in the organizer.
It is a pretty good size. The amount of folders you can store depends on their bulk. The edge of my desk is the home for it, and it provides a great way to keep files within reach without worry of them falling off my desk, spilling their contents, or getting jumbled together.
I really like using this organizer. I like the metal, the size, durability, and how clean and organized it makes me look! Recommended.
At first I was annoyed that no instructions came with it. Then I took the pieces out of the bag and said oh, I get it. Heh silly me, but it's just that simple. 4 prongs go in 4 holes. Even I can't mess that up.
Once together, it's quite sturdy. There's little bumps on both cross pieces, so there's no up or down, it'll work either way, and those bumps keep it from rubbing on things.
The only thing missing is maybe some thin rubber strips with sticky that go along whatever side you use as the bottom. Just to keep it from sliding around if it's out in the open. I can't really take a star off for that, though, because it's just not an issue that reduces its functionality to me.
I like having a few of my frequently used files on top of the shelf beside my desk (home office). It also coordinates with other pieces in this line (and also pieces from other brands).
Yup, quite pleased.

I like file folders but cabinets can be so big and the metal grating sound isn't the most pleasant. I keep this hanging file folder holder in my box bookcase where you have 8 holes to put those colorful boxes in. It fits in there perfectly but I could also keep this on my desk with no problem.
There are four pieces and no instructions but you don't really need it. Just put the pieces together and it feels sturdy in the end but for $20 I think they could make it sturdier with some snap and locking mechanics. The pipe goes inside the other pipe and it stays there but don't try to move this once it is full of folders unless you do it carefully. There is a base, then the two mesh sides slide into the four holes, and then the top hanging part slides into the four holes the mesh sides have. If you want to move it, you need to only hold the base but honestly, I would crazy glue all of this together. I don't need to assemble it but for $20 I think it could have been better designed.
This was a snap to assemble. I love the space saving design. It’s far more attractive than plastic holders and I expect it will last much longer than them. Coordinates perfectly with other Mind Reader office supplies (ok, that’s not surprising; but they are nice). No need to hide this.
The mesh is quite sturdy and provides good support. One star off for putting the mesh on the front and back rather than the sides, where it would be able to keep papers from falling out.
Overall, the space-saving and attractive design is a winner.
This metal black mesh may not look like much, but it's very sturdy and it will hold a lot of weight in your hanging files. This is a nice item to have for your desktop when you want to have your hanging files right there, but you would like to keep them organized and not spilling out all over the place. It also fits nicely on shelves or on top of file cabinets when you have a few frequently accessed files, or you're just running out of space. Fold it up when not in use. The black won't stick out, and this box will last for years. Does everything it should.
I didn't know I needed this hanging file holder until I received it! There are always a couple of files that I need to access on a daily basis (though the which files often change) and I would have to get up from my desk and go to my file boxes and get the files and then put then back at the end of the day. No more since I have this portable desk size file holder - Now I just reach for the file by my side and continue on with my work.
I will be getting more of these to give to others.
