Sending a guy to jail is NOT sexy
Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2020
I wanted to like this book. I enjoy a good age-gap, older H with a younger, virginal h, story as much as anyone else. As long as they are both consenting adults! This is not that story; at least the first half is not. I like when that older H has some lust for what’s forbidden and is controlled and strong enough to withstand the temptation. That’s what makes him a H! He does what is best for the h. What I don’t like in this story is the way the h is a selfish, under-aged, bratty b*tch that wants what she wants regardless of what the consequences will be for her H. She’s jail-bait, as in, if the H touches her, HE goes to jail. She doesn’t care. ‘But I want him!’ wah wah wah, cry me a river. And the really unpleasant part is that young, jail-bait girls ARE out there IRL, wanting those older guys. And they entice and tease and pursue those men, and if the man succumbs to the temptation and they’re caught, HE goes to jail with ‘sexual predator’ attached to his name for life and the little girl skips off with no consequences to go merrily along with her life. It’s not cute. It’s not fun. It’s not sexy. This story could have easily picked up with her being of legal age and still have the hottie stigma of the age gap as well as being the H’s best friend’s daughter without the jail-bait brat backstory. This h was probably the most dis-likable character I’ve read in a very long time. And that’s sad because the side H’s in the story were fantastic and fun, and made me laugh out loud more than once, and I was really looking forward to reading their stories in the series. Now, probably not so much if the coming h’s will be anything like this selfish b*tch. Not appealing.
