To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
If you're familiar with the game “I Spy with my Little Eye, you will get the concept behind this book. What I liked is that the book mixed it up regarding what the child is supposed to find. Some of it was language based, like looking for the item that started with a particular letter. Other ones were shape or color recognition. The one I found the most intriguing, though, were the ones that were based on a concept, like looking for an object that represented spring. Trying to puzzle out something like that is actually fantastic brain training for young children; eventually, we want them to be able to think in the abstract, and this is a step on that road to think about things beyond the physical or language level. I wish there were more of these *concept* “I Spies” in the book, actually. If you're looking for a fun Easter book and your child likes puzzling things out like this, they may very well enjoy this book.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
