Reviewing Logitech C920x Pro HD Webcam - I plugged in the camera and Win10 recognized it immediately. No need to go find drivers. No need to install LogiTech SW. It just worked. I fired up Teams with no issues.

I have my home office. I have my work office. And I have a workstation in the other building. I need to be able to use Teams because most of the company is working remotely. I saw the C920x at $69 and bought 2. Now I wish I would have bought 5 or more. I would give them to some of my co-workers ... so tired of looking at nostrils!

The Test Engineer in me wonders if other people with Win10/Teams issues are having conflicting SW issues as both Teams and the LogiTech SW have background editing tools. Hmmm ... idk. Yes, that is an actual photo backdrop. I'm winning the (unofficial) video-conferencing competition.

No more Zeiss lens which make this webcam stand out

I bought the same model back in 2016 and it has German Zeiss lens in it. The one made this year only has a normal lens, no more Zeiss lense any longer, although Logitech is selling at higher price. Very disappointed. If you search the review about Zeiss lens, all returned are from 2015 and 2016. The video quality and picture quality are not as good as my 2016 version.

You know that feeling you get when you're holding a well-built item? The adjustable hinges on this webcam are as good as they can possibly be. Easy to adjust. This is the go-to first webcam for new streamers. Handles 1080p resolution 60fps well (I recommend using 720p 30fps if you stream to help out with bandwidth issues if your internet isn't the best, trust). It IS mountable on a tripod so that's nice. At stock price, it's amazing. Try NOT to purchase from resellers. This item should be around $70-$80. Don't support their business if they're trying to scalp you for $110+.

Nice looking camera, but unfortunately pros stops here.
Autofocus is inconsistent. If you go away and then return to your computer it is out of focus completely. You need to disable camera and re-enable again to return focus.
Image is blurry. It has blurry background feature but it looks like it considers myself as a background.
I replaced $20 camera with this one and immediately everyone start asking me what happens to my camera.
Disappointed. Looks like Logitech is not the same anymore. Once best hardware now worse than no-name stuff from China.

I have been searching for a webcam. One that actually works. On the advice of a friend I upgraded, admittedly not to the same one she has, but still the same brand. Twice the money I had been spending, in the hope that I would at last find something good. Well guess what...

It arrived today. I have tried to get this to work. No joy. The computer doesn't recognise it, it simply doesn't show up. I searched in different ways to try and locate it (with it plugged into differing USB ports), all with no result. It is simply invisible. So I watch some instructional videos on YouTube which tell me I must go to the Logitech website and download drivers for this camera (Why?).

I go to the Logitech website. I look at manuals and instructions. very little in English, mostly in Chinese, totally unintelligible to me. .... How about just type in Logitech webcam drivers? Let's try that.

So I go. And I look. I cannot find drivers for the C920x. There are drivers for C920 and C920s, but not for this one.
I know, I thought, we'll just get the drivers for the C920 and go from there. Round and round the houses on the Logitech website. The only option it will give me is to download GHub, which is basically for gaming as far as I can tell. Anyway, I download it.
It wants me to do all sorts of things like register (which will include name, email etc), and to allow them access to my computer and share my data with them, and to share my gaming experiences with others, online. The thing won't let me proceed unless I agree.
But I don't want to agree. I just want a camera such that when I plug it in it just works. I don't want to faff about registering and "Sharing" anything that has absolutely nothing to do with them nor anybody else. So.... This thing is just another expensive paperweight.
It's packed, sealed, and is going straight back where it came from tomorrow (well, today than 11th). Chinese crap.
So disappointing.

Picture quality isn't great, in fact, for seventy-dollars, I really can't recommend buying this camera in 2020. Dark scenes have a ton of static. 1080p looks blurry. It looks like Logitech rebuilt this model and used cheaper components.

The "x" in the description and on the box is for the free 3 months of Xsplit software (via a code printed on a small pamphlet inside the box) and has nothing to do with the camera model. In the box is the Logitech C920 camera. I have it plugged into my Dell XPS 15 9500 (2020 model) running Windows 10 Pro and didn't have to install any drivers or software. I use it with Zoom. No pop ups, no errors, it's 100% plug n' play. Picture quality is a huge improvement from the base camera in my laptop. Crazy that in 2020 laptop camera quality is still an issue. Other than that, it's a webcam and performs as advertised.

OH EM GEEEEEEE my new webcam is EVERYTHING!!!! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

It is like 2000% better than my MacBook cam. Why didn't I think to purchase a new webcam sooner?! It took me having a Zoom meeting with my friend who is a podcast host to realize how inferior my mac book cam is.

Consider investing in this model if you participate in WFH online meetings more than once a month or host web series/ podcast. I am very happy with my purchase.

I purchased this webcam to replace my 5-year-old 1080p webcam with a broken mount...big mistake. This has an awful sensor that is using an incredibly high iso even in a professionally lit environment. I'm going back to the old webcam with the broken mount.

As soon as I received the item, something just didn't seem right. The box seemed a little too beat-up. .. But OK, i unboxed it & the camera looked legit. Plugged it in & it detected as a C920 camera ... Not a C920x ... but OK, maybe they use the same driver. The problem came when I could not update the firmware and in certain programs, could not stop the flicker. I then realized the 'serial number' and the 'part number' did NOT match what was on the box. Concerned the camera could be phishing & hesitant to send it back. Reaching out to Amazon for assistance
