To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This book was completely not what I expected. In a good way. I loved seeing the Chosen back together. Ivy and Ether together sniping at each other will always be a joy. The Villian of this book is what was so surprising. Seeing friends fight. Seeing Deacon prove to be a match for 4 of the Chosen plus their allies together. Seeing the surprise return of a hero save the day. The painful loss of that hero again. This book really had everything. I can't wait for more adventures in this world.
Above all else I've learned from this series, is Joseph's ability to bring life to characters through conflict and complexity. Both internally and externally, he's created characters in such a way that we can share in their emotions. While, much like Deacon, I didn't find all the answers I was looking for in this book, I'm happy even if this is the end of our tale.
The Coin of Kenvard is in my view one amazing story, especially the ending. And I have to say, its sad to see the stories of the five chosen, Myranda, Ivy, Ether, Myn, and Lain, come to an end. But the pieces are now in place for next era to take root. I look forward with excitement to see where the author will take the story next in the Book of Deacon universe.
